And what a fall from 50 odd years ago winning the European cup and being one of the best teams in the world.

Aside from MON and Rodgers how often have we hired well known top managers?

Neil Lennon, Ronny Deila, Tony Mowbray, Gordon Strachan, John Barnes, the list actually can go on more Dr venglos, Liam Brady, etc.

They had done little to nothing before being Celtic manager.

Avoiding relegation in the premier League and winning the championship, then getting relegated. Or winning the title in Norway.

We haven't regularly went out of our way to make a huge hiring especially since MON, we only went out of our way for Rodgers.

There's a difference between voicing concerns and acting like a * Hun.

Which SOME people are in here. Not necessarily yourself.

But gleefully celebrating and predicting * based on the back of more * is downright Hunnish.

I have reservations, as we all should, but I had reservations about Howe too, his lack of experience in. Europe, his tendency to * the bed, a la Burnley, his transfer record... and I seriously think we've dodged a bullet.

I don't think ange has the right temperament for the Celtic job, and his ego COULD prove his undoing, with both the club and the fans.

But I've no intention of pumping my doubts into every post, shooting down those who are hopeful or optimistic, or even attempting to jump on the "I told you so" bandwagon if it does go * up.

Too many on here have short * memories and bullshit nostalgia wet dreams. MoN turned into a long ball merchant before left, Strachan fell out with half the squad, Ronny was undermined at every turn, Mowbray was clueless, and BR had zero plan B, couldnt spot a defender if one was sitting in his face and both our results and performances took a sharp upturn when he did a runner.

The toxicity of these boards needs knocked in the head.

The guy is getting the job, end of.

So let's support him and give HIM the benefit of the doubt. Not the board or DD.

There's a * MASSIVE job ahead here. Many were predisposed to giving Howe a season to get it right, some on here aren't even giving this guy the time it will take for him to sit his fat * in the managers chair.

    It's pure * hunnery.

We need a modern manager, we need an attacking this and that, we need an anti board man... blah blah blah.

The same * who are * all over Postecoglou are the same * who said no more DD gifting Irishmen jobs, no more board yes men, no more blah blah blah.

How many * boxes need ticking before this guy gets even a SHOT at the job ffs?

Eddie Howe was missing a * load of boxes, big ones too. No European experience, no continental contacts, no top flight titles or even challenging, a very questionable transfer history and a big * bottle job at Burnley. But ppl were wanking themselves into a frenzy over him.

Give the guy a chance. A REAL chance, before we * all over him for his so called faults, many of which he shares with Eddie * Howe.

I was willing to give Howe a chance.

I'm will to give Posteglocou a chance.

    We all should.

Voicing concerns about a managerial appointment at Celtic is a million miles from 'hunnery'. You also state you have concerns yourself. There is a million and one options between Desmond appointing another ex Celtic player or someone with the Irish connection and this guy so that argument falls flat on its face. I agree as a fanbase we over rated Howe I've said it a few times on here but I would have him over Ange everyday of the week. Also I don't get this notion why people want to downplay Rodgers success here as if that makes Ange more suitable for the role.

Next season the league alone is worth 30/40 million we are now what 105 ? days without a manager and there is a few good ones out of work do you honestly think this guy coming off the back of finishing 9th in Japan is the best we can do ?

The whole point of this website is to get your opinion across and you either like it or disagree with it .
But alot of supporters have concerns about this appointment and was watching the interview with Craig foster on YouTube and he was asking Ang about his quality of coaching after failed to beat Lagos and yes it's a old video.
Did this guy get a interview with Desmond or the Celtic board or is this a panic appointment by the city group who lawwells son is part off .
We just have to get on with it and get behind him but I have huge doubts he will be a success .

Blindly accepting what the board tells you, blindly thinking every new signing and manager is the best thing to happen in football, refusing to acknowledge warning signs or use basic common sense to judge a manager, players, board members...is literally hun behaviour of the last 12 years.

(Regrettably) the more I read about Postecoglou, the more I fear that his appointment would be a massive mistake.

I could of course be wrong…

You make some good points there, especially about Eddie Howe but the accusations of ‘hunnery’ are out of order to be honest.
We saw examples of hunnery in george square recently. A million miles from doubting a potential new manager’s suitability for the job.

Our performances and results did not take take a sharp upturn after Rodgers left. That’s revisionism.

Took a sharp turn the following season 100% but right away? Not a chance. We just dug in and seen out the season and a treble but it was turgid stuff.

The following season was when there was a major upturn.

The more I think about it the more I come to the conclusion he may be more suited to the DoF role here than the manager's job.

Admittedly my view may be slightly skewed by the fact I don't think he'll be a successful manager here, and don't really want him to get that, but maybe if he could imprint his football ethos on us as a DoF it wouldn't be a bad thing. Yes, I may be clutching at straws...
