Aside from the obvious Greek game, the lad will surely be as unmotivated and pish as he is in Scotland against the mid table clubs we have here.

I mean....Yes AEK, you are buying a baller, can't believe you are gonna steal him off of us...

OLIVIER NTCHAM is edging closer to joining AEK Athens.

The Celtic midfielder has been in talks with the Greek giants over a permanent deal.

It's understood Ntcham has now thrashed out personal terms that will net him around £1million a year.

And AEK hope to pick him up on a free - if Celtic agree not to take up an option on the final year of his deal.

Ntcham could even make the move in the coming days after talks moved quickly over the weekend.

The French midfielder joined Celtic from Man City for £4.5million in 2017 under Brendan Rodgers

He impressed in his first two seasons but his form faded and he spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille.

That was a disastrous move - with the French club opting not to take up the option of a permanent deal.

Ntcham's value plummeted as a result but AEK moved quickly to try to lure him to Greece.

They have offered a bumper deal and it now looks like the 25-year-old will continue his career in Athens.

He always struck me as someone who thought he was too good for Celtic.. yet he’s now signing for AEK? Bizarre. Good signing for them though.

Guys attitude is obviously shocking and we are much better off without him, however less than 2 years ago we were turning down bids of 10M plus for him, now he's going on a free and he's contributed * all bar a goal at Lazio since, just * basket case management from the board down to Neil Lennon not letting this * go for this price back then, particularly as it was clear he's had this attitude issue for a while and he wanted to leave, now we lose him on a free when he's a good player and should be commanding a fee.

Screams the exact same issue with Boyata aside from he was gash and a coward when we turned down 9m off Fulham only to lose him months later on a free, * mental decision from Rodgers & yet again the board.

The planning at this football club is a disgrace.

Ajax accept the reality of their situation. They're a huge club in a smaller league and understand the reality that players will want to leave and will move on. They have forward planning with who's coming through the youth ranks and who they have scouted to replace players who are ultimately going to leave. They sell at the right time and get players in at the right time. For some inexplicable reason, we can't seem to match that. It's simply not good enough

Think we had the choice of keeping (and paying him) for one more year. Probably thought it was safer just to get rid of him rather than be on the hook for his wage if no one came in with an offer.

I’d be cheeky and ask for a sell on clause as well.

Greece has good weather and a slower pace to the game, I actually think he’s suited to it.

Earlier reports stated they'd waive some of Barkas final fee if we gave them Ntcham, hopefully that's still true if Ntcham does join them on a free.

We did that with Sinclair and there were no takers, and he is far better than Ntcham.

The problem is Ntcham stopped playing when he never got his move to Porto. His attitude has been * for a long time just another player in our squad that believes the hype but doesn't deliver.

If we can get rid while cutting some (hopefully >=50%) off the 4.5m spent on Barkas then that's a win.

Give Barkas another year under a new manager with experienced backup. Hazard or Bain shouldn't be second choice.

He has one year left on his contract so I don't know what all this if we take up the option crap is about. He still has one year left on his contract. So no reason we should not be able to get 2-3m for him this summer. If AEK want him for free then they should be told to get to * and come back with at last 2-3m or there is not even a discussion to be had.
