This post is just daft. That was a very long time ago when he couldnt get a coaching job in Australia. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then.

I understand the get a game plan and stick to it but to stick to it at all costs is foolish at best. We will not out press the top teams in Europe unless DD spend 4-500m on players that can do this not a chance in our domestic league yes almost every game we could press high and come out on top but even then we’ll need to change a good few players

I’m not knocking free fast flowing football * I’d love nothing more than to see us run A moach on the huns but I’m worried he’ll try and implement it at all costs and we will be continuously humped Because we don’t defend well if this season has taught us anything it’s that a week defence will lose you the title.

 

The “he doesn’t change his game plan” thing is overdone. He’s often used 3 at the back with wingbacks. With the Socceroos he changed from a 4 at the back to a 3 at the back when he thought it required it. He will use different formations depending on the opposition, not to combat the opposition, but because he thinks his team can outplay the opposition with that formation.

 

Still, that doesn't mean he is willing to abandon the high press, even when he should (opposition are too good for a frantic press to work).
