He simply isn’t worth losing unless it’s £10m+.

If we’re confident he’s not going to be the type to chuck it and kick up a fuss then we’re as may as well holding onto him for that sort of money.

 

We need to give him a really good offer, and if he declines, let him go.

 

If we let Ajer go for £6mil then serious questions need to be asked (again). To let him enter into his final year of a contract is * * hour!!

 

The whole club has been ran like a pub team. Lawwell should have been told to get to * last season for gross misconduct.

Even with 12 months remaining on his contract, we should be looking at £10m minimum.

We got £6m for Armstrong and he had 6 months left on his deal.

Poor business once again from the Board. We have underperformed in every department this year and it only looks like it’s going to get worse.

One of the few players when all was going wrong last season never chucked it and kept his standards up. Would love to see him stay and be our new captain but if the player wants to go then I wish him nothing but the best. A class act on and off the field. 6m though is a joke should be at least double that.

 

If we’d sold the likes of him and Eddy last summer and subsequently lost out on 10 in a row then there would have been riots. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

 

Newcastle are just throwing out a lowball figure !! No club will get Ajer for 6 mil in todays market. I'm not too sure he would want to go to Newcastle anyway.

 

He is for sure much better then their level. He is still young and while I don't think he will end up at Van Dijk's level I think he will end up at a very high level.

 

Kris Ajer has emerged as a transfer target for Bayer Leverkusen.

The German giants are keen to add the Celtic defender to their ranks and have already, as Herald and Times Sportunderstands, made tentative contact with the player's representatives.

It has been widely expected this summer that Norwegian Ajer would be willing to move on from Parkhead and there has been serious interest in the ace.

Newcastle are also considered to be very interested in Ajer and it is understood that newly promoted Norwich have the player on their radar as they plan an assault on the Premier League next season.


Ajer, 23, has made 53 appearances this campaign in all competitions including international fixtures and, despite the Hoops' poor season, has made a name for himself.

Leverkusen already have a relationship with Celtic having spent roughly £11.5million on former Parkhead right-back Jeremie Frimpong who cost the Glasgow giants just £300,000 from Manchester City.

 

Has to be one of the best ball-playing centre halves in Europe. His defending can definitely improve at times but a tremendous footballer all round.

He's definitely away this summer.
