This is what he’s going to have to deal with here :56:

Hopefully he can create a siege mentality as soon as possible.

the thing at celtic is you never get time, if its Ange i hope it works immediately, as the pressure will be incredible if he doesn't get results straight away

the only way i see that happening is if we are banging in the goals, which has started to become a problem for us the last year and a while, lots of possession and not enough goals and then going a goal down

    Is that actually true?

Maybe my expectations have been lowered but with the squad we have and the time available I think any new manager must be given some slack.

I loved how Rodgers came and turned round a our squad, but if he hadn't I still think most fans would have had patience.

You never get time at Celtic? Tell that to Neil Lennon.

In all honesty i canny remember a manager ever gettin as long as Lenny, it was clear both he and the team were a mess, but for whatever reason the Board allowed it to continue.

The alarm bells were ringing then and they're ringing now, it's clear that the Board are cluless and totally incapable of running Celtic, 3 months chasing Howe we're nearly into the month of June and now we're after some guy from Australia, strikes me they haven't got a scooby.

I think with NL the board was caught up in sentiment and nostalgia. Most people in Celtic Park probably knew him as a friend more than the manager of Celtic. When it comes to sacking someone in that position is hard, especially if you know the ripple effect that that causes on home life etc. Real life isn’t a simulation, sacking your manager on FM doesn’t show the RL effects it has on the person. Not defending NL or the board but as the dust settles I do see the difficulties in just firing him.

Spot on. Apparently, some are allowed all the time in the world. And when the * hits the fan big time, we fail to act accordingly.

On this note, it would be interesting to know what kind of reasoning is behind the fact that JK appears to be in a job for life. Responsible for defensive duties, and we can't defend for toffee.

    Incredible goings-on at the moment.

Watched this whole debacle over the past 12 months, with a sense of utter disbelief

Lennon’s team staggering through the season was bad, but the boards reluctance to put him and the fans out of their misery was astonishing

Since then it unbelievably seems to have got worse.

Aside from them putting all their eggs in the Howe basket, the lack of communication has taken incompetence to a new level, especially when the club needs funds from fans reeling from this pandemic.

I was looking forward to Howe taking it on, but if he’s this scared, then it’s a good thing he’s bailed out in my eyes.

Sean Dyche would be my preference now

No messing with egotistical players, teams are well coached and he has worked miracles on a shoe string

Even got Barton to behave for a few months.

Sure we could be good for each other over the next 3-4 years.

No sentiment should stand in the way of any business descisions, its a disaster waiting to happen and that disaster is staring right at us as we blunder along trying to get a manager in when we should have been acting as far back at least November. Chelsea got it right, appointed Lampard, one of their own, he failed in his second season, sacked him, new manager in....Champion League winners. That's how business should be done.

There was no sentiment involved, as hiring a new manager would have cost money, and that is what the board hate more than anything.

Keeping Lennon has cost us more than if we sacked him back in November.

not usually, the way we played last year normally a manager would have been sacked id say

if our team arent scoring and we are dropping points all over the place and falling behind in the league id imagine celtic would sack the manager in most times

Im not talking about spending 60/70 million though. I’m talking about bringing in a good manager.
