Ange Postecoglou is clearly a bigger name than Eddie Howe.

    By 7 letters :eek1:

The big names at Celtic won't intimidate him at all, just like they didn't when he was in his 30s at South Melbourne

This is why I take the Aussie opinion on him with a very large punch of salt. South Melbourne were part time side. I’m not saying the guys a poor manager, but it isn’t in the list but unfair to say he’s never managed anywhere with a pressure and expectation anywhere close to that which he would experience here.

I think you’ve missed the point... I never said don’t dismiss him for valid reasons, just stop with the “no qualifications” nonsense because he has some and can easily get them.

Being unhappy with the possibility of appointing him because of his career so far is more than acceptable. That’s a valid reason.

That was the point I was making.

I think everything is a valid reason.

Qualification badges are a load of bollocks. Did Jock Stein have any? It means * all in reality.

The point is is that it's another thing. Another thing on top of all the other things.

    Yeah, basically my point.

There does seem to be a lot of reasons to be not happy with this appointment if it happens, but how much have you actually looked into him? Checked his background/history as a manager and watched the way his teams play/setup?

I've not done too much other than today, watched a few Yokohama Mariners matches and read up on him and actually could be a good appointment if he is properly backed and not just a yes man. If we hire Fergal Harkin and this is his appointment, I think it could work.

No one is suggesting Howe was the messiah, but to 99.9% of fans and the board, he was the best candidate for the job having managed in the "best league in the world", and other than one season, done very well.

As I've said, we've taken punts on unknown coach's before with very little success, so you must be able to understand the fans frustrations and anger.

Because of the league we play in, we are a huge club in a very small pond where the money on offer cannot compare to the top leagues. That and our board are * tight *.

That tenaka, looks a player btw, a terrier in the tackle, composed and has a engine. Bit small built only downside.
Seen he won young player of the year a wee while back and would cost 1.3million. I would take him.

Think the money side is not the issue. We had a wage budget of £60 million under Rodgers, we can compete financially. Look at most top teams in Europe outside of the “ESL”. Villarreal won the Europa League spending less on wages.

What we badly miss out on is competition. Other than Rangers, and European football if we qualify why would you want to come here compared to other major leagues that have a much stronger league.

No idea, but if he was guaranteed to be in Japans national team, or improve the league by quality or exposure, does that no go to a panel. Plus the whole brexit thing? Was it no meant to be easier to get players outwith the EU.

He’s been the J-League rookie of the year, J-League team of the year and plays in the Japanese NT and is 22 years old.

Id say he would easily qualify for one.

Hes a good player, plays for Mitjyland in Denmark. One of our potential opponents in the 2nd rd champs league qualifying.
