I follow Dortmund pretty closely as I have friends over there and my brother had a season ticket for a few years.

Favre was horrendous in the last couple of years. Did well with Gladbach but that was a few years ago now.

If it is to be this Australian guy, I’m more than willing to give him a chance and support him initially. I just don’t see what’s to be gained from being hostile towards HIM from the very start. It won’t be his fault he’s been put in the job by the board.

That’s the * predicament those * have put us in.

I understand his point to be fair. I personally wanted a manager of a higher calibre too (like, I don't know, Eddie Howe?) but some people are doing what we generally hate about the EPL and their fans. I don't think we're in a position to belittle other leagues or footballing countries and we rightly point out English arrogance, so it's hypocritical in that sense.

Postecoglou isn't my first choice, but he does have a good reputation in Oz. He places emphasis on fitness, something that we've desperately been lacking for years. If he comes in I'll back the man, as long as the board do too. My worry is that he'll be treated like Deila and given no financial backing whatsoever.

Its not just getting a manager in , it's about the whole package. DOF, manager, coaching team, scouts, etc, then you have to target players that can work with the coaches and manager. We have had 3 months to sort this, to change the structure as promised. I can't help but feel it is all delaying tactics so we can appoint Clarke after the Euros, with Strachan and Kennedy still their as his backroom team. As I said earlier I have got to the stage I couldn't give a toss about the manger unless he brings the full package with him. We are at the stage where we need a complete rebuild not just someone who comes with some good coaching credentials to select players to play on the pitch.

So JK is in charge till we find a new manager , which could take a while.

At the moment i dont see any sense in buying our tickets until the grounds are open again and fans will be allowed in, until Scotland is given the all clear for the grounds to open.

Surely you would take a punt on Favre before you take one on the Australian guy, no?

For sure. Favre won’t be a yes man though. Ange will be like Lennon pinching himself that he got the job and will do anything asked of him from above.

As a club we are currently teetering precariously on the edge of a very high cliff. We're not really in a position to give a longshot a chance. This appointment is the most crucial the club has made since Martin O'Neil, we simply can't afford to get it wrong. Maybe if we were recruiting from a position of strength and were able to take calculated risk. A manager of proven quality is paramount here and while this fella may well be a decent coach he's not what is required right now. The press and fans will be on his back the minute he walks in the door and judging by what we are seeing, he doesn't handle pressure very well.

He has done well at every club that he has managed, including Borussia Dortmund for a time (indeed, he outperformed Klopp by many metrics).

If he had been an unqualified success at Borussia Dortmund, he would be unattainable, so I am prepared to overlook a less successful (but by no means disastrous) period in his managerial career.

He is light-years ahead of Celtic's other reported targets.

I think so mate.. I've seen lots of folk absolutely slate Favre.. I'm a big fan of Duffer and with the right backing could be a great punt. But for now and the rebuild that has to be done I dont think I'd have him now.

More I read up on this guy and watch his interviews more I think the big Aussie guy is worth the punt. No nonsense, international experience, (yes not European but still ...), Attacking football and remember he is up against Steven fcking Gerard and his band of journeymen.

Aussie + Duff might be a good combo here
