Potential Manager Suggestions?

Following very positive and detailed discussions with Eddie Howe, with the belief that he would be an excellent candidate for the position of Celtic Manager, we allowed time for the process, given he’d previously made it clear he was not looking to return to management until this summer at the earliest.

We can now confirm that Eddie will not be joining the Club, for reasons outwith both his and Celtic’s control.

We wish Eddie success for the future.

As part of the ongoing process we have engaged with a number of candidates. We fully appreciate our fans will be seeking clarity on this matter and we aim, very shortly, to announce the appointment of a Manager with the quality and desire to take Celtic forward and bring further success to our supporters.

 

This isn't good. I was looking forward to Eddie and the papers had me convinced.

It leaves us in a hole now that we look as if we are panic appointing and choosing someone the board didn't want.

 

I tuned into Radio Clyde at 6pm there to listen to the Celtic statement which, even by our standards, was a load of pish to say the least. It's obvious that all our eggs were in the Eddie Howe basket and that there's no plan B. We will be scrambling about like headless chickens trying to get someone in and it will be everyone else's fault except, of course, the board. That ugly * Rae was really slagging us off but, I hate to say it, we deserve it.

 

If he's under contract with Bournemouth still and they refuse to release him or accept a compensation agreement from Celtic. I don't know why Bournemouth would do that though.
I'm not a lawyer so just speculating.

 

Never blamed them said it could be a scenario ! If you were u sure about going to a place then riots broke out would you go ? Naw ye widnae. Outwith his control so it could have been his family aswell as his coaches

Listening to it too and to be fair rae is speaking truth in every word ! Do celtic have a plan b !! No they dont you cant tell me that talks break down and then a few hours later you are in advanced talks with someone else ! It they are advanced then it should be announced the night !! But its bullshit ! It will be keane or ross !!

No , I believe us the fans had us choosing a manager the board didn't really want and although it looks from the outside that it was complicated, it has worked in thier favour as the fan driven choice would sell season tickets i dont think it was a unanimous agreement, so job done , onto our own choice , we did our best congratulations Steve clarke .

 

So many appointments that could excite the fans. So many.

He would take the title back off the huns immediately and progress us in Europe no problem, he got the better of Gerrard more often than not on a Killie budget, imagine him with our budget

 

It wont be Kennedy or Keane, because as * as the board are they'll release that either would be financial suicide on their part.

Wont be clarke as he wont be available to the end of June, and Jack Ross is a no go as hibs won't want to lose him this late on.

That doesnt mean it wont be a duff appointment sadly, but it wont be any of them.
