Fraser played left-wing at Bournemouth, cutting inside onto his right foot, with a lwb behind/outside him.

Not the majority of the time. Source: my Bournemouth ST-holding former colleague.

I didn’t say you had, but.

Your whole point about Fraser playing at wing-back was that Howe played wingers there. He didn’t generally, except as a compromise when the squad was threadbare. That doesn’t say anything about whether or not he’ll keep Taylor around.

    Source: common fckin sense, mate.

Not the case at all, if you listen to the 20MT podcast and heard the Bournemouth podcast guy talking you’d know Fraser played there as opposed to actual defenders. Nothing to do with a threadbare squad and him being the only option. I’m sure he said he played there a dozen games in a row or something.

Attacking full backs are a guarantee if he comes in.

Good. Sick of watching taylor and kenny turn back and give the ball inside cos they cant beat a man and generally offer * all in attack.

id rather have hayes who plays with more energy, has more pace, can ping a ball into a box!!

part of the failure this season was the lack of chances created, over laps and final quality balls from our full backs.

With KT he delivered on all the correct stuff we needed to perform, he was never replaced - in turn strikers feeding on scraps from our full backs.

just a complete * take - also taking into account both are soft in terms of defensive duties especially defending high balls and often out muscled for the ball.

thank * the season is over and start rebuilding with some quality.

He's a decent back up option to have but we definitely need to strengthen in the summer.

He isn't a decent backup though..

If a left back gets injured then could we rely on Taylor to turn up and bomb on, assist and no get skinned? It's an empathic no..

Many of us thought Bain was a decent backup. Forster goes, we sign a diddy and Bain gets found out massively. He isn't a decent backup either..

Griffiths, Ajeti and Klimala have proven for a whole host of reason's that they also aren't decent backups for Edouard (another who has been dreadful)..

We need player's who can slot in seamlessly, otherwise we'll still be hampered with * for far too many game's than we'd like..

Tierney had 8 goals and 37 assists in 170 games
Taylor has 1 goal and 10 assists in 49. On raw stats he's not far behind in assists as a ratio

Greg Taylor is not as good as Tierney by any stretch of the imagination but I think he gets an u fair amount of blame, I don't think he's actually that bad amd if he has someone competent coaching you'll see far more out of him especially if there's another LB to learn from and develop off of and a coherent system to play in. The lack of overlap had to have been a coached thing to tell them to do so.

As Roy Keane says "my eye's don't lie to me"..

I've watched this boy over and over and he can't pick a man out 9 time's out of 10 he'll hit the first man..

He can't beat a man. I've never seen it. I wonder if we could get a statistical matchup there..

He is defensively a weak link. So so timid in the challenge..

I could go on and on..

Offers so little going forward, and as a Celtic full back, most games will spend most time supporting the attack. Bizarre signing, a one trick pony. Said before, suspect we are saddled with him

Taylor is a typical signing of our recent failing transfer policy, he actually epitomises it. We sell a star player (Tierney) and the current back up was well past it (Izzy), so we needed two left backs. We line up a young French player (Pernaud) but go for Boli instead, who arrives and doesn’t even look like a footballer.

It’s early in the window but we clearly need another left back. We * about and suddenly it’s deadline day we have one left back that no one fancies. We panic and sign a boy whose looked alright in the league but in a team who play a predominantly defensive style nothing like us. They know we are desperate so we overpay for him too.

You could repeat that story so many times in various positions over the last few years.

Perraud well out of range now and also Meling who was supposedly a done deal to Sutton at one point..

People can debate whether they were the perfect fit for us or how good they actually are....but there's no doubting they would've been an upgrade on anything we've currently got..

I only managed to watch 30 mins last night but it looked like he was much more central when we had possession to form another midfield option.

Maybe Ange knows he cant beat a man but is okay in possession?

He was alright at time's but he's gonna be exposed in this system badly..

Too slow and when he does get up the park, his crossing is brutal..
