I think De Vries was injured too.

 

That’s right. Made total sense at the time. But the fact he’s seen out 3 and half years at the club is insane.

When does his contract expire?

 

2023 I think, so he is here for a while. Our recruitment of keepers is pretty guff, De Vries, Bain and Barkas.

Woods would without any doubt have been responsible or if not jointly responsible for the choice of keepers at the club.
In his opinion they were either good enough or showed enough to be seen to be made good enough.
Woods is no doubt competent at putting a keeper through a training session , what is perfectly evident is, he can't improve a keeper which has been proven this season.
So Who do you think is responsible for having 3 keepers at the club non of whom can hold the no 1 jersey.

You have no idea what involvement Stevie Woods had in hiring our goalkeepers. Do you not realise how ridiculous you sound making that assertion so confidently? Not only are you telling us how involved he was, you’re also telling us what opinion he gave. Absolutely ridiculous.

How do you know Woods didn’t warn them not to sign Barkas and push solely for Forster? Like everyone else, you’ve not got a clue.

Besides..

Hazard is a third choice development keeper. Bain was always brought in as a cheap number 2. It’s embarrassing you’re expecting a goalkeeping coach to turn them into Celtic first team quality. If anything, the level he’s got from Bain is good considering how bad Bain is.

Barkas clearly doesn’t have what it takes to succeed here. It’s a bad signing and that’s it.

Woods has a track record of success. Forster was * youth goalie when he first got here and Woods developed him to a £10m England no. 1.

Gordon hadn’t kicked a ball in anger in 2 years and Woods got him to a great standard again.

Forster was a benchwarmer and Woods got him playing exceptionally again in his second spell.

He’s now also the Scotland GK Coach and I don’t know if you noticed but Scotland have done pretty well in that department recently, or maybe you missed the penalty shootout.

Bottom line here is to start taking digs at Stevie Woods is laughable. It’s so random and bizarre I can only assume you know him personally and don’t like him.

There's an old saying "you can't educate Pork " but I'll give it a go
firstly Forster was a huge prospect in his Newcastle playing days , secondly It was Jin Stewart at Rangers that got Gordon back up to speed as he was training with the huns prior to joining us.
Bain was supposedly a top keeper who fell out of favour at Dundee due to a bust up with MC Cann , Woods was given the task of getting the best out of him .
Scotland are still using and considering goalkeepers who at the end of there careers , Gordon , Marshall ,MC laughlin .If it was based on talent MC Gregor would be first choice at 37 .
Do you honestly think any manager would be do disrespectful as not to take the advise of a Specialist goalkeeper coach when recruiting if that's the case you haven't a clue buddie.
I don't doubt pushed for Forster but we just simply couldn't afford him .
As far as an agenda against Woods ,it's not the case but I do think he should escape unscathed regarding the shower at the club at the moment

Woods was never consulted over which Goalkeepers comes to the club, the manager just simply signs a keeper and he turns up Monday morning and Woods said oh who are you and where are you from.

I just have a gripe with the fact Bain has had a 5 yr contract is hopeless and Woods can do nothing about it nor can he improve any of the keepers ,no big deal just a fact and frustrating.
