Plenty teams across Europe in a financial situation similar to ours can improve dramatically without spending over the top, there is good free agents out there youth systems and of course shrewd business buys, our problem over the last 2 years is instead of making the most of our powerful status we downed tools and took everything for granted, we have dropped the ball massively relying on * loans who do us no service at all none of them will be here next season... why should their hearts be in it?? ( MOI aside hopefully )

We need to work on our backroom team as well as our playing staff top to * bottom scouting has been pish for years, coaching has been bang average since BR left, all these little things make such a difference.

You're right there will be plenty of free agents, promising youngsters and shrewd buys out there across Europe and further. All you you need to take advantage of this is a good, established scouting network.

    Wait,,,,,, hang on, :43:.

Absolutely We need to spend, and it will take a large amount.

We may have had loads of chances but we never took them, it happened to us when we pumped them in the past they had chances and never took them but they have the players now who have converted these missed chances into goals.

I hope it Howe and he is announced very soon if it’s not him then we are in for a very tough time.

They are not even close to where we were in 2016/17 and not far off us now imho, our problem is we downsized and let them catch up now they are in a position of power to reap cash rewards, and we have to now catch up, it is a disgrace to be in such a position and testament to Lawwells philosophy and legacy.

it does say at the bottom we need to work on scouting it’s more than just about the players this clubs * top to tail it’s going to take a whole lot of improving on all fronts.

Get the nucleus of the squad right and the rest will fall into place.

Our problem is that we had it too easy for nine years. There was complacency / incompetence at Board level, but poor scouting and squad management has left us with two problems : a clique of aging, overpaid, underperforming xxxxs who are happy to keep pulling their 800K a year while contributing *-all, and then theres our much vaunted Belgian / French merdes who treat the Club with contempt and bleat constantly about wanting to get getting away to a better/ bigger club.

They are not just deadwood they are toxic assets, they are destroying any team spirit and sucking the life out of the squad and the club.

Yes I agree, sadly though, we won't be in a position to reap any benefits this summer. The rebuild could be a very protracted process.

Remember what Rodgers achieved out of the majority of the Deila team? He only needed to make a few signings, which were good but he also got the most out of the players that were already there.

Granted, we need a lot more players than back then but the most important signing is the manager and DOF.

Hopefully £20 million isn't out of the question to get 3/4 good players, a couple of free signings and loans to make up a few other places and we'd be good to go imo.

I think, to really really make a go of it next year, you’re talking £40m, 7 first team players and plenty of squad players. As someone said above, there are plenty of good freebies soon to be kicking about. Need to be proactive.

Massive difference for me that pal. Rodgers had many players on long term contracts and added a couple of major signings where he felt needed tweaked. We are, potentially, losing 5 first team players and 4 loan players. It’s a complete rebuild.

Agreed.... Not sure it was that great a comparison to be honest, now looking at it.

I just went through who we might actually have that could potentially make the first team next year and the manager can get the best out of and it doesn't look great as it's only 5 players... Forrest, McGregor, Julien, Turnbull and Sorro. May have missed one or two that I can't think of.

We need about ten players. Even one or two freebies and loans I think we are looking at 30/40m for a solid job. For every bargain from a billionaire club like Frimpong there’s some players like Eddy we just need to pay up. I think we’ll get that and bit more with sales but.

Has anyone enjoyed more than 3 games this season?
Constant mistakes over and over again.
players who think they can walk onto the team - brown, Christie, mc gregor
we get bullied, we have no aerial threat, lack of ideas from corners, fail to put men on the posts.
did we go too hard on bolingoli didn't see any other club playing such hardball - out of all European or worldwide teams celtic ended up the most * - dubai was laughable the carry on!

I knew the 10 was over when everyone and their granny was booking vegas for the 10 in a row party - this has been evident for the last 2 seasons - cracks appearing all over the team.

we never replaced quality - we are a cheap club and always will be.
if howe gets the job it will merely be a stepping stone back into the premiership
all the best club scouts got shafted
sentimental in football - it doesn't exist you cant afford to coast a league - we took our eye of the ball when we appointed lennon.

recruitment has been the worst ever

every single first team player is not good enough for celtic bar perhaps ajer who should be the clubs right back.
no spine in the team, no directness, poor finishing, no game intelligence
the fight to get automatic CL group stage this season ahead is bigger than the 10 in a row season - if the rangers get the league next season they will be in a much stronger position financially and the tables will have well and truly flipped.

Shocking this season on and off the pitch too many deadwood in the team and has been for 3 + years - bitton, rogic, brown, mc gregor, forrest (before he got injured was on easy street), Christie, ntcham

total shambles and will be a serious long term fix - get the disco lights uninstalled we wont need them for a good few years.

on easy street with the French u21 - most goals are pens and half the teams are keek.
eddie or someone like mitrovic ( cant get a game at Fulham, top Serbia goal scorer, physical, great in the air, can hold off players) that type of hartson player is suited to our league if we want to play one up top.

eddie only excels when griff plays with his and stretches the game etc.

eddie has a poor touch, weak core strength and isn't clinical enough.

if only we signed all these 'pet projects' 2/3 years ago - waste of time!
luca Connell and wee dembele only seem the two player who I would have about the team
welsh - he collapsed like a ponzi scam when turned by defoe - squad player at best.
mc gregor cant tackle. did the same against Aberdeen earlier in the season, and a few other times around our box gives cheap fouls away.

we miss players like paddy Roberts and stuart Armstrong along with a horrible formation that does not suit the players available.
left and right backs contribute * all - the other side of town most of their goals come that way.

rather have Kenny from south park
