Already said that I think its a good thing Brown is moving on but let's not kid ourselves that the reason he gets so much game time and would probably continue to do so under new management is the fact he is an exemplary leader and influential character. There is better footballers than Brown but when it comes to professionals he is out on his own. That's why every manager plays him and why any future manager would continue to have him feature on a regular basis.

Is Boyd a better striker than Henrik?

Hasn't been given a fair enough opportunity compared to the number of starts under performing players such as Brown, Christie, CalMac to name a few got all season, Rogic is the biggest hunskelper at the club after Eddy yet wasn't given one start against them this season, horrendous management Rogic has been the victim of this season, as well as others such as Karamoko
Stfu you clown, that question doesn't even dignify a response due to the stupidity of it, look at the state of you deflecting from the Brown argument because you got your * handed to you

has he merited more starts with his contributions in the games he played. I think not & i’m a massive fan of Rogic.

I haven’t had anything handed to me. I was just proving that stats don’t always tell the true or full story.

Certainly merited more starts than plenty others who got a game guaranteed to them every week more or less throughout the season, Rogic has scored 5 goals against Sevco, Christie has scored 0, doesn't take a great football tactician to consider Rogic might be a bigger threat to them than someone like Christie. Yet he wasn't given one start against them due to clueless management.

Your eyes should have told the full story with Brown this season, shouldn't need stats to back up the negative on field influence he was having on the whole dynamic of the team week in, week out. Your sentiment is getting in the way of your own rational thinking

Can you also tell me how you 'proved' the stats don’t tell the full story on Brown because I missed that?

Too much sentimental stuff here. No fans would’ve cared if he hadn’t of played a minute today but everyone knew he would start as he’s into his last few games. Will play the last 2 games aswell.

Sentiment is the Celtic supports' biggest problem. So many supporters need to grow up.

I blame Larsson for greetin' on his last day. It permanently scarred a fledgling section of the support. They've never gotten over it.

somes up our season that we play scott against teams knowing hes going to get run ragged and that the club have players that could play instead of him that would make us more difficult to beat but wont play them because of sentimental reasons

either the managers dont have a clue or they are * bags or are both * bags that dont have a clue

wish i hadnt watched this today

    Yep.

We also had a great opportunity to work on Soro and have him ready for the qualifiers and next season. Instead we're ensuring Aberdeen are raring to go.

If Kennedy seriously expects a new manager to keep him, surely as the new manager your first question would be why the * did you keep playing players that aren't going to be here next season in dead rubber games, you total *.

Completely embarrassed himself yesterday. That clip of him going towards Davis and turning away is painful to watch.

It actually looks like he’s gave up half way to closing him down. He was nowhere near tight enough to get properly turned.

It's nothing but a positive yesterday was his last game vs them for us. He's been a passenger in these games since New year 2019.

A 2 man midfield with him in it is the biggest gift we could have given any hun manager for the last 3 seasons. It showed yesterday when the player thats been left to do the work of 2 men in that midfield this season was yellow carded twice after brown had been skinned or left a massive gap in the build up to both cards.

Our midfield can only get better now he's leaving. Sadly its 2 and a half years late after his move to Australia fell through at an ideal time for him to leave us.

He's defo a legend to what he has done for us, not a great, as in playing terms but he's been worth his weight in gold.

However he has had his time, the Huns put Kent up against him a lot and it showed absolute skinned him everytime and he has been so easy to glide past of late.

Time has caught up with him, it has done with every player to play the game. We can all see that, the problem is, Lennon and now Kennedy somehow cannot. They are the culprits in this. Brown should have been used similarly to the way Kompany was in his last season. Only if required and for the odd cameo here and there. The way the Brown situation has been managed has been atrocious, but hardly surprising given who we have had in the dugout.

The family of Celtic legend Billy McNeill has reached out to the club to pay thanks to outgoing captain Scott Brown, and to endorse next week’s tribute to our long-serving skipper.

As announced last week, supporters can pay their respects to Scott ahead of next week’s final home game of the season (Celtic vs St Johnstone, May 12) by visiting a designated collection point – where fans can leave their tributes, jerseys, flags and banners – from Saturday, May 8 to Monday, May 10.

Speaking on behalf of the McNeill family, Billy’s son Martyn contacted the club today with the following message:

“On behalf of our whole family, we are delighted for Scott’s record as a 9-in-a-row-winning Celtic captain and all his other contributions to the Club to be recognised at next week's match.

'No one would be better placed than our father to appreciate what it takes to be a successful Celtic captain and we know he would be so proud of Scott’s achievements.'

"The leadership, commitment and passion Scott has shown through his time at the club is a major factor in Celtic having won so many trophies and of course making history in a quadruple treble.

"No one would be better placed than our father to appreciate what it takes to be a successful Celtic captain and we know he would be so proud of Scott’s achievements.

"Scott is someone who has given nearly 15 years of his life to Celtic and throughout this time has represented the Club brilliantly. We are sure fans will be eager to pay tribute to such an important figure.

"As a family, we thank Scott sincerely for all he has done for the Club and we wish him and his family nothing but success for the future."

We realise it has been a very difficult year for supporters, not being able to access Celtic Park, and, unfortunately, this remains the case. But from Saturday, May 8, to Monday, May 10, the Club will be arranging a collection point where fans can leave their tributes, be that jerseys, flags, banners etc.

The collection point for Scott Brown will be open from 10am-4pm on these days and will be positioned at the Clyde Gateway Car Park, adjacent to the Jock Stein Stand. This can be accessed on foot or by car by entering from the Clyde Gateway road.

Please note, anyone who wishes to have supporters club banners etc returned should contact Celtic’s Supporter Liaison Officer, John Paul Taylor – jptaylor@celticfc.co.uk or @CelticFCSLO

A canny believe they’ve sunk as low as grovelling to Cesar’s family for a sound bite, to deflect from their failings

Would love to think your rite, but i get the feeling a lot of fans will leave stuff out.No harm in showing brown some appreciation but there is a time and a place.

Id love fans to turn up and instead of Brown flags jersey,s etc id love them to leave banners and signs criticising the board for the way things are,it would be a kick up the hole for them and a major embarrassment.
