Potential Manager Suggestions?

I don't think Kennedy will be there next season regardless

We never announce a manager during the league campaign.

 

I agree that it is crucial we make the right decisions, but it shouldn't be taking as long as this to make them. The longer this drags on, the less likely we can turn things around for next season. We have already gifted the league title this season, and the way it is going, it looks likely we are doing the same for the next campaign.

 

The delay in naming a manager will be because whoever it is will be seeing out the season with their current club. The silence from the board is because the appointment will be underwhelming , they are happy to sit back and let the rumours about Howe take the headlines deflecting any interest from the person they want to come in.

 

There's no excuse for not communicating with us in the meantime. Just a mixture of laziness, incompetence and arrogance. We are seen as paying customers to them. Nothing more, nothing less.

The important question is not when the new managers were announced as per above, but what timetable was there between the previous managers leaving, and THEN when were the new ones announced. So far we are two months since effectively being manager less.

 

They were prob hoping Kennedy had a stormer so they could give him it on a yes mans salary. He's * that tho.

 

Well Barnes left in January with Dalglish (DOF) acting as caretaker.

 

Hopefully the delay is due to our man currently in a position. I don’t fancy any of the men who are free to talk at the moment

 

What are they supposed to communicate?

"We're still looking"?

 

The Barnes and Mowbray seasons are the only ones that even come close to this season in terms of disasters.

The Barnes season we still won the League Cup after he left and Lennon took over after Mowbray left and took us on a winning run (with the exception of that cup game v Ross County).

I've never sensed the support being as apathetic as it is right now. Literal die-hards not even turning the TV on to watch us, while we're in a global pandemic and there's * all else to do.

When many maybe tightening their belts or questioning the sense in paying £500+ for a season book they might not even get to use again, the club should be doing everything it can to create a 'feel-good factor'; instead it seems like no-one cares.

The players don't care to give 100%, Prince Phillip looks like he has more life in him than Kennedy, the board don't care enough to even remove themselves from the safety of the boardroom to give us something....and the longer it goes, the less the support is beginning to care. People are switching off and an astute board would realise the importance of stopping that happening.

 

I get what you're saying, I'm just going by the available evidence and think we've still got a while to wait.

 

Anything is better than nothing. Its been about 130 days since a review was announced, still no word or update.
About 60 days since Lennon was resigned.
A new CEO has started, the first one in 17 years.
Season ticket renewal is about to be released.

These four points, could easily be constructed in to a statement, that allay fears and give some positivity to the fans.

Not even a welcome message or softball interview with Dom Mckay, that could say. I'm here, look forward to the challenge, whilst embracing the history and traditions of the club. I understand fans would like a new manager ASAP, but a process is underway and will provide this in the near future/ end of season. In the meantime, can I assure fans we at the club are doing all we can, as quick as we can, to get the right team in place, for the coming season ahead and start of Champion league qualifiers.


That took myself 5 mins to think and type. Sure some PA, Dom/Pete and other officials at the club could do this, better and quicker than myself.


We don't need our hands held constantly, but the boards silence isn't good enough.

 

The club have done their recruitment business as quietly as possible for as long as I can remember though, I can't see that changing.

 

It's possible but season ticket renewals are the big elephant in the room, especially after announcing a loss for the first 6 months of the year.

If we've still got another 7/8 weeks to wait til an announcement then watch renewal figures drop off a cliff in the meantime.

 

Won't surprise me if some rumours are drip fed into the media soon, then.

 

I can't see rumours sufficing. They're in for a shock if they think it will.

There was already going to be a drop-off from last season to this, given we haven't been able to sit in our seats once but that aside 10s of thousands will not pay £500+ on a season book while John Kennedy is interim manager, myself included.

 

Yeah I respect that. No issues with that. But this season has been different for all the wrong reasons. A little more contact other than birthday tweets would go along way.

 

Tbh I don't need to hear that. Next time they speak I want it to be when our new manager is holding a green and white scarf above his head. The sooner the better obviously.
