the wise thing would be to have got a striker in last season or when we got polish paddy to bed in same way eddie played under study to dembele - if we sold eddie last summer the understudy would be action ready to step up.

Sure it's been mentioned, but one of two things are happening.

No 1. Howe is signed, work is going on in the background regarding recruitment. The delay in announcing it I'm not so sure about but it would explain our apparent calmness.

No 2. We don't have a * scooby and are just blagging our way forward day to day waiting for someone to make a decision. 'So Peter have we got any further on the new manager?' as lustig approached his final year we should have ear marked a solid long term replacement.

Personally lustig was very limited - no pace and poor on the turn, of course he had height, aerial ability, could pitch in with goals and had fight which goes a long way - Ideal in the league but not so much in europe. he bought into the club.

the main point is that we fail to sign any players who can make us better than the season before and usually rely on players getting flogged by agents or journeymen in the last few seasons.

The renewal packs were sent out last March. we are nearly at the end of April and still nothing.

I understand, Covid will have a part to play in that, but surly they need to make an appointment before they are sent out this years renewal.

 

Aye, I was talking about this the other day as well. They won't send out renewals until the manager situation is sorted, or just about to be sorted.
