I don't underestimate our boards ability to * things up but surely the new ceo has been waiting in the wings thinking & planning out how he will do things differently and put his own stamp on things otherwise what is the point in headhunting him if its just to go with the status quo

No really sure what your on about my point was the board do have a tendency to * things up sometimes. But Lennon was out in the wilderness when we threw him a lifeline in those showers and chose the sentimental cheap option instead of the right one.

Mckay was in a high profile job and will want to make a name for himself so have a good feeling about this appointment.

where is mckay gonna find the funds for this rebuild ,desmond talking about giving a new manager time is probably code for give mckay time .i suspect it will be the 10 or so players we need right now that will be last in line and probably spread out over the duration of the new managers reign

Bit weird there was no tweet and a short statement from the incoming new CEO on his first day.

Even lip service pish "great to be here, bright future once we overcome the pandemic, great to see fans back in the stands next season" that sort of *.

I listened to a podcast about McKay recently and one of the main takeaways from a Scottish rugby correspondent is that he's very PR savvy. No announcement from the club could have very well been deliberate.

For me, a complete idiot at knowing anything about PR, I can only assume it must mean surely waiting for big announcement in one go, rather than little nonsense stuff and pretending it accumulate to more.

Some of the chat about McKay is embarrassing to say the least "he's a Tory" , "heard a rumor he is worse than lawell", "jobs too big for him", "not Sellic minded". Uneducated people talking about someone who hasn't even had a chance to present a case. One thing he will of course have to contend with is that the IQ of the general football fan is considerably less than that of someone who follows rugby, so appeasing people with shiny sparkly objects may be the way forward for the time being.

Aye it's pretty embarrassing considering he hadn't even been in the door yet and we were getting 'i heard from a workmate' or 'he was in my sister's year at school' blah blah blah..

Let the man get in the door first and we'll see what's what in due course..

yeah, people are forgetting, he's not been brought in as a "Celtic" man. He is here as a business man. The DOF will be the "Celtic" man.

As much as I agree with the sentiment, I'd like to see any evidence to back up the IQ claim. They may be more educated due to it being more of a middle-class sport but that has no bearing on IQ.

Got to give the guy a chance.

The man got alcohol into Scottish Rugby grounds and as a low IQ football supporter, that's the sort of thing I'd like him to repeat.

While I loosely agree with what you're saying here....

...this is as crass as it is condescending.
