If government object there is one thing they can do that will stop it in its tracks. Threaten to revoke their licences to trade as a business.
That means they cant use their premises or operate as football clubs.

I’d love to see uefa and the epl collapse... even more amusing when it’s due to a breakaway greed thirst of their own creation.

    Is there a timescale?

Im thinking that if the funding is there and talks already done then it would be to their benefit to do such a guerilla breakaway ASAP before any uefa/fifa actions unfold.

Funding, agreed structure, venues, etc etc all established.....

Just those air miles to rack up for the prawn sandwich fans who can afford to participate.

If that happens we eventually collapse or at least our standard suffers because ehats the point. Our club will never be invitied to the big table and would be lucky if there is a 2nd league structure.

This will help Barca out big time with their massive debts. Clubs willing to ruin everything around them to help themselves out because of content cheating/over spending. More than a club indeed.

Mourinho supposedly wouldn’t take training today because of this. That’s why he’s away. Ffs :56:

My hope was for a 2 parallel league structure... either north/south or better a west/east that both split and merge top & bottom of each at halfway point.

can’t see it as it’s all about money going to certain clubs.

    uefa created this monster.

I would have a little bit of sympathy for Barça’s stance if it meant that they were getting out of the Spanish league given the threats etc over Catalan independence, but it’s just sheer greed and an easy way to write off some of their debt.

All twelve clubs should be ashamed, but they’re run by businessmen with no affiliation to the fans (which sadly sounds all too familiar this season).

Any player that joins them will be banned from every other club outwith them and wont be playing for national teams.

Twelve of Europe's biggest clubs have broken away to form their own European Super League, leaving some of the other historic names on the continent behind.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain are expected to join the European Super League, alongside six clubs from England and three each from Spain and Italy.

    Portugal's four European Cups
Neither Benfica nor Porto are involved in this project. They've won two European Cups each over the course of their history. They could be invited in for the five remaining slots in the European Super League but, as for Sporting CP, they're a long way off.

    Johan Cruyff's home
Ajax, known for producing some of the best players in recent generations, will have their four European Cups for consolation. PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord have also been champions of European before.

    Celtic
Scotland's most successful European side will have a lot to do to earn a place in the European Super League's five remaining spaces. Celtic, who won the European Cup in 1967, fell behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership this season.

    Goodbye to the East
You'd think that Russian football would be good bets to take one or two of the remaining five places in the European Super League, leaving a host of Eastern European clubs by the wayside. Former European champions Steaua Bucharest and Red Star Belgrade are not involved.

Neither are Ukraine's Dynamo Kyiv or Shakhtar Donetsk, plus Turkey's big clubs and the likes of Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and Ferencvaros.

    Best of the rest
Just because you play in one of Europe's top leagues doesn't mean you're guaranteed a spot in the European Super League. Sevilla, Roma, Napoli, Lazio, Marseille, Lyon and RB Leipzig all face an uncertain future.

I'm finding it quite a giggle reading $ky News of all places reporting all the mumping and moaning from those associated with the EPL

Two of the greediest organisations going. Absolute scenes.

Just watched the pundits (Danny Murphy Dion Dublin) on motd raging about how it will ruin football... stealing cash from little clubs. Stifling player progression, etc etc

Had to smile at the irony of it... the EPL has been doing it for 20 years.

Suddenly football shouldn’t be ‘all about money’.

Seen a guy on sky earlier saying how can it be called the super league when City, Spurs and Arsenal have never won it and Arsenal don't even play in it anymore and that clubs like Celtic, Benfica, Steua, Villa and Forrest would need to be considered for it to be classed as a 'super' league.

The same guy no doubt a few weeks ago would have been on advertising Brighton vs Burnley as a 'super' Sunday fixture.
