Guy’s a big lege’ and he’s been a good servant. Crackin’ player when he’s at it, but is fast becoming surplus to requirements. Might be worth keeping for another year as there is still a glimmer of hope there, but it looks like the beginning of the end for him as he looks to have lost a few yards with age.

I'd keep him for another year. I know his fitness has been * but maybe he can turn a corner under Howe if he comes in.

If we can get him fit he would be like a £10 million signing. He's still got talent just not got high enough level of fitness to be effective.

In the right formation he excels. He likes to link up with forrest cause forrest makes runs in behind for a one-two. Would suit him more with two energetic cm’s like mcgregor n Christie or mcgregor and soro so he doesn’t need to track back as much. Would definitely keep him and give him a fair shot. If he doesn’t impress throughout the season I’m sure it will be his last with us, if he is kept on that is

He is an interesting one. I tend to agree with you that under Howe if he connects well with the new manager he may be someone who can really flourish next season. When he on his top game he is a joy to watch no question. I know he was almost sold last summer and part of the question will be does he even want to stay when the new manager comes in or is his mind already on moving regardless.

Hes chronically unfit/injured and then takes about 15 games to properly get back upto speed.

    We dont need anymore passengers.

To be fair, he wasn't a passenger under Rodgers, far from it. Every player in our team regressed under Lennon and we look like a team that is unfit now. A new manager might get him back to what he was under Rodgers, and then we have a quality player. I would keep him for another season.

I've tried to see him as others do but it's just not possible. At the level Celtic aspire to be you cannot carry a luxury player who only occasionally comes up with big plays, doesn't work hard enough for a midfielder, can't last 90 mins and never goes demanding the ball. He has constantly been an empty jersey in Europe, not just under Lennon.
Tom Rogic should be controlling games for 90 mins against most oppositions. He has the ability but whether it be body or mind he never really has.

Sell. Put together a highlight video and file under cult hero. A la McCourt, Sammy, Dziekanowski........
Guys who promised it all but only sporadically delivered.

You might well be right in the current financial sports climate. It is all pretty much up in the air until the new management team gets into place anyway and they make decisions on what payers they want to keep.

If he were starting games, he’d be hooked by the 60th minute, and would be having to wind down gradually from the 45th.

Subject him (and us) to that every week, and we’d end up losing him to injury for several weeks of the year into the bargain.

Football requires athletes. Tom isn’t one.

Using him as one of the backup options for Turnbull is fine. Otherwise, punt.
