Has he played a single minute of football for them?

There's a bit of me wanting Eddie Howe in asap so he can bring that "new manager" impact on the club as well as laying down some innovative tactics and training methods. However, there's also a bit of me worried that, if he does start right away and happens to loose the two remaining games to the huns, he will get hammered by our hun loving SMSM and even by some of our fans

Goes with the territory of being a Celtic manager I suppose

It’s that agreed in principle that worries me

Wouldn’t be worried about Howe not being announced yet.

If it was him using us to get his name out there and try tempt an EPL club to make him an offer then he’d have got the presenter to ask him about it when he was doing the punditry for the United game IMO.

The fact he doesn’t have Tindall anymore maybe means he feels even more strongly about Hughes coming with him as he’ll be his right hand man at the club, albeit in a different role to assistant.

I'd like Howe but until it's announced I'm not taking anything for granted. In football nothing is confirmed until the contract is signed.

I hope it is not a financial decision by the club to save a few quid .
If he comes in now then he can assess the players we have to see who is worth keeping and ditch the rest in the summer.

I was absolutely buzzing with developments towards the end of last week when it appeared the deal was done, but the longer the delay the more edgy I get.

The way the club has been run this season and the wrong decisions (or lack of decisions at times) gives me the fear here, but bring forward the appointment of Dominic McKay is a positive step I didn't see them taking.

Just get it over the line and show some real intent to get our title back.

Clubs been run a shambles last few years - if not last decade to be fair.

But the news dripping out last week had all the hallmarks of being done, I don't see anything that has made us think last weeks developments didn't happen.
More just the "delay" getting people nervy.

Ive zero issue with him coming in now or at end season. Either or!! But Hughes over Harkin if we were already going with Harkin concerns me. What's the point of the role if it's the coaches appointment

I don’t like the idea of the manager/coach picking the DOF

I have thought all along that Howe was foolish to sign any deal before the Summer.
Typically most job openings come up over the Summer
In my mind the DOF has to be independent of the manager. I don't think the manager picking his buddy is a great idea.

I agree with this , it gives continuity in a system when a manager leaves. However we have such a rebuilding job to do , on this occasion it maybe a good idea to have a manager and DOF that have worked closely before to get systems in place .

It's a bit of a catch 22 isn't it ? The two of them need to work closely together to rebuild but if Howe quits does he take his buddy with him ?
The whole point of the DOF is to have a long term plan in place for the club that doesn't change when the manager leaves.
