Pretty obvious he would be working away in the background before July anyway but be as well make it official if possible. The recommendation by Howe, if true, for a friend to get the DOF job isn't something I'm overly in favour of tbh given the problems giving rodgers friends jobs caused us.

The less said about some of the content in that Celts for change open letter the better as well :giggle1:

    This sounds like excellent news...

Next season starts now in trr were ms of rebuilding.... not in the summer.. so getting the new man in ASAP is perfect whether working transitionally with PL or not.

Howe (assuming it’s him) staring Tuesday as well would be ideal for me.

A triple whammy with the ZlatMan saying he’s coming for next season would top it off.

You’ve got to think Lawwell will be CEO in name only from that date then and the new guy can seriously start moving on getting infrastructure teams in place.

Further to our announcement on January 29 confirming that Dom McKay will be joining Celtic FC as our new Chief Executive Officer on July 1, 2021 following the retirement of Peter Lawwell on June 30, Scottish Rugby have confirmed today that their Chief Operating Officer and the Chairman of the Guinness Pro14, McKay, will be leaving Scottish Rugby on April 16 following a successful handover.

Peter Lawwell continues in his role as Chief Executive Officer and board member until June 30. Dom will join the Club from April 19, working with Peter and the Executive team to ensure a smooth transition, until Dom takes on the role of Chief Executive Officer and board member on July 1.

It's already been announced before that he has already been working with the board in bringing in a new manager.

I wonder if his involvement has been increased because a certain manager who has just done his own "due diligence" over the club, has requested we make the rumoured restructure appointments happen sooner than July 1st....

This is what I'm thinking, Howe has said he wants Richard Hughes in in some capacity and McKay should be involved in that process rather than Lawwell as he's on his way out.

I'm being patient and optimistic of course, it could all go pear shaped but for now I'm actually pleased we're doing things methodically and with some forward thinking. These changes are crucial and we shouldn't rush them in a desperate attempt to salvage a season that is already *.

If it is to be Howe there could be a number of things still being negotiated. It could be his coaching staff that he wants to bring in but Lawell maybe trying to forcè Kennedy and Strachan on him . Or maybe he sees Lawell as a stumbling block and wanted Mackay in to do the negotiating or at least over see it.

Was that him sitting in the stand as well?

He should take * note of this shambles and his first job in the morning should be to announce the new manager and a complete clear out of these two diddies in Kennedy and Strachan.

He's got a big first week ahead of him if he wants the fans onside and buying season tickets.
