Potential Manager Suggestions?

At this point I'm just going to be happy that Howe is coming in. There's pros and cons to starting now or in the summer but hearing about how meticulous he is in his methods and watching that Bournemouth tour video with him, there may be a lot he wants changed around Lennoxtown and the stadium before he even begins to start coaching the squad...

Given half that squad might not be around for his first season I don't see too much problem with letting him view from the outside looking in so to speak, while him and McKay make their mark around the place first.

 

Better he loses twice to the huns in this shitshow of a season than twice next season.

 

He could still make an impression on the ones that are staying. This would allow them to develop and have something built ready for new recruits to follow suit and hit the ground running when they're brought in instead of starting from square one altogether with Champions League qualifiers a few says away if he were to join in the summer.

He could squeeze an extra 10% out of those leaving so we get higher transfer fees for those leaving.

The Glasgow Derby - if we lose both of them, so what? We've been horrendous all season and we would probably do that without him at the helm. If we win, optimism will return, a bit of feel good factor and he'd get under the hun's skin straight away.

The biggest mark Howe could make is actually starting ASAP.

For the life of me I have no understanding why people want Howe in to sit in the stands for a few months instead of getting on with his mountainous workload as soon as possible.

 

It's almost like people are forgetting Rodgers left us early so he could finish the season at Leicester, evaluate the squad and get them in a better position for next year.

It doesn't really matter if he loses at Ibrox, we're bound to lose with Kennedy in charge. It would be a huge statement if he won.

It's all sounding a little too good to be true though, we've gone from being told it's sorted on Thursday to the sound of further delays. Hope I'm wrong but it feels like we've been taken for a ride by the press and the negotiations are actually in much less advanced stage

 

I would like to think the board would be decent enough to leak a something to quash the story if it wasn't happening. Especially with how the story has ramped to the point it is being made out a done deal. Nothing would surprise me this season though.

Absolutely, which is basically what I'm saying, that the 2 places really are quite different, Dorset also has its less smart parts no doubt but sadly Glasgow has pockets of deprivation which are probably unique in the UK

 

Like I said I do see pros and cons, the cons you haven't mentioned being playing a load of dead rubbers and coming into a toxic dressing room with a bunch of players wanting away or about to return to their parent clubs etc. I agree with all your points tbh but at this point the standards have been lowered so much that I'll take Howe gladly at any point be it now or the summer.

Should've happened 6 months ago, ideally it's done this week, but the main thing is it's done before the summer rebuild.

 

I just think that with how much he has to do here, he may as well get on with it.

It's a bit like putting things off to the last minute, classic Celtic.

The manager may not want to join now. May be happy to talk to players, deal with coaching sessions and start with recruitment but would you blame any manager for not wanting their name on this season?

I beg your pardon, Dorset is beautiful, all over the County, Ill have you know.

 

The only difference between Howe officially starting now and June would be he’s on the touchline for some dead rubber games, majority of this team won’t be here next season and he’ll be working in the background assessing those who will be here, what’s needed going forward and analysing tactics. Anyone expecting him to undo 2 years of Lennon in the space of 10 days before the cup game are dreaming
