    Watching seaspiracy

    Grim viewing.

Basically makes you feel it doesn't matter a * what we do to help.....nothing gets done at the top.

Yeah it was an eye opener, shows how gullible people are when they look to buy things that say responsibly sourced or have a blue tick and don’t stop to think hold on we live in a capitalist society they can’t possibly be lying to me!

It’s always about money and governments are wholly complicit in it along with corporates. They will do these small things to great fanfare like plastic straws knowing fine well what the real issues are that can actually make a difference.

Some of those scenes were heartbreaking and really disturbing to watch.

Just about finished season 2. It’s good. Some of the acting leaves a lot to be desired and the less said about the fake blood the better, but the storyline is heating up nicely.

Seaspiracy basically just fueled my anger towards social media activists who literally know zero about what’s going on, but just want to better their own image.

Hope a lot of them feel silly after seeing it and realising ticks and stickers don’t make you some sort of eco warrior.

Sherpa - good, sad story but good footage of spoiled selfish rich * getting their spoiled selfish rich fun ruined, whilst they have no moral compass whatsoever. Mon the Sherpas.

Run - decent, not a long film and good to squeeze in, bit of a thrill if not the greatest acting

Twice I've watched up until about season 3 and just gave up on it.

    It's decent but I don't think it's aged well.

Seaspiracy - never felt so ignorant than I did half way through the documentary.

The stats are mind blowing and whilst I was aware of commercial fishing being an issue in terms of overfishing certain species, never in a million years would I have thought it was doing the volume of damage it is to the planet nor was I fully aware of the importance of the sea to us as a species.

I do look for ‘sustainable’ products from the very little seafood I do eat and now feel like an * that that’s being taken on face value.

    Agreed.

Even that bit about the salmon and the added colouring. Have always been proud of Scottish Salmon and that gave me the boak.

    Love the stuff too :54:

Seaspiracy was mental and incredibly sad. The whaling scene in the Faroe Islands was brutal.
The whole mafia type business on these boats was crazy too.

Always hated seeing fish being caught and kicked or thrown about like they're nothing.

Few episodes into season 4 of The Shield.

    Now we’re talking!

I think Kurt Sutter has a bigger role in production than he did in seasons 1-3, his mark seems all over it now. Better visuals, soundtrack etc and the storyline is building into something huge.

Also, Glenn Close as the new Captain? Random as *. :giggle1:

Ep 7 season 4 of The Shield.

Anyone who gave up on this show before season 4 needs to get back on it. Season 4 is incredible television, literally levels above the first 3 seasons.

The thing is though, the first 3 seasons are crucial to the long term outcome of the show that skipping them would be a waste.

Season 4 is a huge leap forward for the supporting characters especially, and Glenn Close as the new captain is a pretty inspired choice, she is excellent.

I think not being a fan actually helps. The show is very dramatised. Going into it blind is much better.

    Cracking TV though.
