Similar weather? Same diet? :poster_sp. No idea the point you're trying to make about per capita income

Average male life expectancy Dorset: 81
Average male life expectancy Glasgow: 73.6

If diet was the 'same' and weather 'similar' then there would be much less of a delta in those numbers, the FACT that Glasgow is comparatively poor to Bournemouth also plays a significant part in the lower life expectancy

Is it? Maybe for managers who have already achieved something like Benitez. But let's look at managers for the top 10 clubs (no English managers among them) Moyes and Rodgers are the only 2 to manage relegation fodder teams in England. If you want a job with one of the big boys, you need something to back you up. Rodgers came 2nd in the premiership but his name fell when they went straight downhill. He got his current gig from being at Celtic. If your happy to float around the relegation zone like a * that won't flush like Hughes or Bruce, that's fine but if you have any sort of enthusiasm to do well they are bad routes.

    Just an add on,
Last English manager to win trophies in England. It shows English managers do not really get jobs with good clubs.
FA Cup 2008- Dave Jones (Portsmouth)
Premier league/1st Division 1992 - Howard Wilkinson (Leeds)
League Cup 2004 Steve McClaren (Middlesbrough).
I think this is a big reason why Gerrard is being hyped, English managers don't win medals much anymore.

All of a Sudden we need a new gaffer in right now instead of next season, JK wont be able to bring the Scottish home to paradise

Lose and you knock some of the stuffing out of the Howe appointment almost immediately.

Give it Kennedy til end of the season.

All joking aside, it is a bit of a spanner in the works and the board will probably be reconsidering whatever timeline they had for him taking over

It wouldn't be fair to throw Howe or any new manager in at this stage, i would give JK the remainder of the games, allow the new man to prepare things behind the scenes.

I get the point in general terms... but does ‘fairness’ really matter?

He will be a highly paid manager with an important job to do whatever the timeline..

I don’t think there should be any cup expectations of him if he started on Tuesday ... but I think we are writing it off if we continue with Kennedy.

Aye and we could get beat with Howe in charge in that game too. Puts a bit of pressure on him already and takes away the feel good factor of him coming in the summer.

I'm sure the Huns did this with Slippy, announced him but waited until the game against us was out the way. I'm sure he was in the stand watching

I'm honestly not too sure I want Howe in just now.

Thing is, I don't think any manager could get this current team playing well, and if Howe comes in and doesn't turn it around, A lot of people will be against him already, despite the fact this current team is pretty much beyond saving.

On the other hand, keeping Kennedy in charge basically gifts them the Scottish Cup, it's a tough one.

Again.. I’d file ‘feelgood’ along with ‘fairness’..

He’s going to be paid highly to take pressure.

I don’t see how writing off the Scottish cup for the sake of some summer unveiling and a fan turnout to welcome him balances out.

We’d have taken him in a snap if (and while) Lennon was in charge, not said “ no... let Lenny fark up the rest of the season so Howe has a fresh season start.

Of course... he could start Tuesday and still fail in the SC.... but I have more hope than with Kennedy in charge ...

.... wouldn’t it also give Howe a real understanding of who needs to stay and who needs shown the door as well?

Id think of it more as a head start on next season than anything else.

I'd announce Howe as soon as possible and allow him to work away in the background until officially taking over in summer and leave Kennedy in charge till then. He can gauge the players, opponents, set up etc. We don't wanna give them any momentum going into the summer and take the gloss off the appointment. The guy needs time to build something, having to rush in and paper of cracks over a week or so won't help anyone

How many games has Kennedy managed now?

Could they * off everybody that's bet on Kennedy by announcing it to end on his 9th game? :56:

Announce new manager and have him sitting in stand watching, make sure the players know he is there and they playing for their future in the team and see if that brings a positive reaction and performance.

What a farce that would be, moment he's announced he should be in the dugout

Get him in now a few months to get to know the players personalities qualities and weaknesses and also let them get to know him u never know he might make such an impression one or two might want to sign new deals.
