New manager signings

When rodgers signed we all had an idea sinclair would soon be linked ! But now howe is almost here , what ex players he has manged do you think will be here come september !

i think cook , smith and possibly begovic ! All out of contract and cover 3 positions we require! Cook and smith (cb and rb) are both 29 and have played at a good level , begovic is a really goid keeper also and at 33 is a good age !

benik afobe is another whos contract is up and has a decent scoring record and is 28 and harry wilson who will again probably be available on loan !

 

Begovic is a * good shout as well. At 33, he has a few good seasons in him as well, out of contract in the summer.

I still reckon Barkas has a place here, needs properly coached and a lot of help to settle in to a settled side, and to the country.

Would happily get rid of all the keepers bar Barkas, bring in Begovic as the number 1 with Barkas to challenge and then look to the actual youth (think Hazard etc are getting far too old to be considered youth any more and need to move on) or bring in a promising 18 year old with the view that they are the long term plan.

Cook is only 24 but does have another year on his deal according to transfermarkt. Would take him, but not too sure how likely that is.

Adam Smith, don't know too much about but can't be worse than Kenny or Ralston. Much like keeper position a clear out there is needed, Smith maybe could do a short term year or 2 job while we find the next Frimpong.

Assuming of course, Howe is the man I think he will look to some of these players.
Begovic would excite me the most off the top of my head of those named.

 

Keane's not been in a job for ten years, be pretty surprised if any of his signings are still playing

We havn't ......nothing in writing yet , if we do get him..... Easter Sunday is a great day for him to sign.

 

Jordan Ibe the winger was linked with Celtic but I'm sure Eddie Howe will have his own thoughts. I don't think he'll have great difficulty convincing a few Premier league quality names to play in Glasgow.

Brendan Rodgers success at Leicester, Kieran Tierney most recently at Arsenal and Frimpongs big move to Germany, shows we are an outstanding stepping stone club, for those glory seekers. Just hope Hamilton and the rest of the plastic pitch select up here * off and die for good they bring shame to Scottish football. They are an embarrassment to the game.

Ibe is * * and one of Howe worst signings. No * thank you to him.

 

I'll take your word! Its good to have the expert knowledge of Bornmouth's marquee team here in Glasgow!

 

Afobe is pretty *, his scoring record is pretty poor. He can't get a game at Stoke, if we lose 2 or more strikers it may be worth a punt on a freebie but he hasn't done a decent job for years. A decent striker has to come in too.
But Steve Cook and Adam Smith are no brainers to me. 29 years old, but both probably have another 3 years in them. Cook would be a shout for captain too. Begovic, I would take. The salaries would be high, but they could be made up with sign on fees due to lack of transfer fees. However I think all 3 will have suiters.

 

I think there are huge changes coming, don’t think anyone in the current squad will not be safe in terms of being sold. Also like any new manager coming in the fringe and youth players really need to impress!

 

Smith will be v likely, I think. Maybe Cook and then possibly Begovic, if wages allow, and if he isn’t picked up by a club offering more.

 

Begović is a no-brainer. It sounds like Smith could do a job, too.

 

Have said literally this v thing about Smith on here for months now, on and off, and been laughed off at least one thread. Some of our fans are extremely short-sighted, and expecting to just suddenly find the next Cafu for our RB slot simply because we appear to be changing our recruitment set-up.

Smith on a free would be a very shrewd piece of business, imo.

 

Chris Sutton was absolute * for Chelsea but was amazing up here

Economically, it make sense to sign Adam Smith. The invisible hand should see both parties happily meet his price somewhere in the middle.

Jack wilkshire was the other one , i think howe hd him on loan ? Only signed a short term deal im sure at bournmouth for this season

 

Sutton had scored plenty in the premiership prior to that one season, he had won the golden Boot. Ibe really hasn't achieved much, playing 1 game for Derby this season. While he may do okay, Howe didn't even seem to rate him at the club that highly.

 

Only played 13 games this season, could be worth a punt but he is constantly injured.
