Why does the rest of the world see us as a package or some sort of ghastly double act? I'd love to play in another league but WITHOUT them and never have to play those poisonous, vile * ever again.

Both clubs marketed themselves as a package - the Old Firm - for decades.

    'Rangers no longer exists.'

I know. I copied the headline from the article. I generally avoid dignifying that club with a name, but I left the name from the headline in place for clarity and because replacing 'Rangers' with 'Sevco', whenever someone else uses it, is a waste of my time.

To be honest, If we went to the Bundesliga or La Liga is want them to come with us so their fans can truly embarrass themselves on the European stage on a weekly basis. Imagine the fines, every week throughout the season for decrying the Pope in Spain and attacking churches or some such, and singing the German bombers song. They’d get demolished by ultra groups in these countries too.

I could see them making alliances with far right ultra groups.

Remember they do have friends in Germany (Hamburg) and in Spain (Espanol)

You’re right tbf, but that would only go so far. By virtue of being far right, Espanyol are also Francoist and by extension hyper catholic conservative, once they realise that their ‘buddies’ are decrying their religious leader or singing a song about kicking him every time they meet I’m sure there’d quickly be a falling out. Likewise, whilst flying their stars of David in retaliation to the GB’s Palestinian displays, Hamburg, May of whose supporters hold neo-* values would soon pull them up on their ‘Zionist Sympathies’. As well as being knuckle dragging, retrograde inbreds, sevconians are also walking political contradictions.

...I mean, they’re based in Catalonia, where their main rivals are one of the most established left-leaning clubs in the world, and they have a name that literally means ‘Spanish’ in contrast to the independence movement.

Are you really surprised to learn they lean to the right?

I would rather see a combination of leagues between Scotland/Ireland/Wales/Denmark/Norway/Sweden etc

Joining a top 5 league (which isn’t going to happen anyway) would only be done because of access to TV money. At least creating a kind of Northern transatlantic league with similar sized countries could attempt to create something that can be competitive, good to watch and maybe one day compete against the so called big leagues.

Pie in the sky stuff at this stage though but I’d rather join a league with our Nordic cousins than France or Germany.

There’s some logic in a move to the English football pyramid, or even the formation of a Celtic/North Atlantic league. Moving to the French league is a complete non-starter though.

It would benefit the French league massively but it’s very, very, random and would create a precedent UEFA won’t entertain for a single second.

Yeah. There was an article about their friendship not so long ago.

They identify with the Huns because they are a right wing Royalist club who oppose independence and social progress.

Very rarely I post on here, but I feel strongly that anything involving Rangers is a no no,fed up with the sectarian * people in Scotland have to put with,if this was black players in England it would would be all over the media, tried to convince myself that they have moved on but in reality they still think it's 1690

All though it's an interesting concept, I can't help but notice one thing that people seem to forget about when discussing european super leagues and thats the away fans. The core away support would die out as you can't expect thousands to make trips all over france or anywhere else on the continent every 2 weeks, is it worth it?
