Ewan Henderson

Another academy player whose development has been completely mismanaged.

The boy's got clear talent. A few months ago he was called up out-of-the-blue to be superb against the team that's currently joint top of Ligue 1.

 

Punting him on loan when the season is done but continuing to play Brown and Christie sums us up when it comes to development.

Talented youngster who’s always gave a good account of himself can’t get a chance because we’ll keep playing a 35 who’s been done for a while and a player who’d rather be anywhere else.

 

Would rather see him get game time with us. Can't get my head around how we manage to give so few opportunities to our youth players.

 

What's the point in this he held his own against Lille. Brown is off and Christie will hopefully join him why not give these guys a run to the end of the season the worst that could happen is that they would be as * as those they are replacing.

 

Club's an absolute joke..

Was probably our brightest prospect no long ago and played well with a bit of swagger on more than a few occasions. Had a * loan granted but I don't know what's going on with us..

Why no play him here in these dead rubbers?

 

I still maintain he can make it with us.

Ideally, in a normally run club, we'd see Christie playing absolutely diabolical for us and let Henderson take his spot, but at the very least he'll be getting gametime.

If he does good, loan him out for 6 months to a SPFL/English League 1 side and see how he gets on, Christie and Mcgregor were 23/24 when they became fully first choice, no reason Henderson can't do the same.

 

Because it would be instead of Turnbull, and he both needs and deserves gametime.

 

Good loan for him there, should be a certainty for starter and they’re also looking to move up the table. We should try get a few more youbgsters out on loan in league 1 and 2 now it’s started again for the rest of the term

 

Honestly, I’d be angrier if we played him in Brown’s position. For one, if we were doing that why not Soro? For two, only reason people have even thought to complain bout it is him going for some gametime.

This thread was dead before hand, nobody was crying out for him to play.

 

Loan move should do him good as long as he gets games. I'd rather he played elsewhere if he's not going to play here. Hopefully he makes it with us, as he has a good level of ability from what I've seen.

 

I hear you mate but he's had fuckall. Why no bring him on for instead of Rogic who will be away in the summer and can barely move when on just now?

The reason there hasn't been a big clamour for Hendo is he's stagnated with us and due to a poor loan move..

He has shown for our first team that he can more than make an impact..

He's just one of quite a few to be fair..

 

I never said play him in Brown’s position. I said the likes of Brown and Christie still getting played while we punt him on loan sums us up. Playong players who are done and have no interest in being here over a kid who’s shown more than enough to get a run in the team.

And...

 

A bit like his brother in that can see he’s a good player, but what position in the team would he play for us?don’t think he’s shown any defensive ability to play cm,also don’t think he has the pace to play outwide,so basically number 10?he’s up against Turnbull Christie and Rogic,can’t see him making it with us unfortunately,hope I’m wrong though.

 

We have been mismanaging our academy youngster for so long. Lenny probably mostly at fault for this. Brendan was not great either, don't think he brought through any youth player. So since Deila (who gave Tierney and McGregor thier chances) not many has had a proper chance.

 

Hopefully we got a colts team into the leagues,guys like Henderson could’ve potentially been playing in league 2 at 16,I’m willing to bet he would be a far better player now,with maybe a 100 professional games under his belt,if this was the case

 

Clicked the first one, May 2019. 2 years ago or so. I’d liked him to have more game time, I really rate him.

He’s directly competing with Turnbull though, he needs the gametime himself.

 

Henderson can play deeper as well.

That’s where he played coming through with Regan Hendry usually deployed as the 10.

It’s just more general frustration that we seem to shoehorn certain players in (who aren’t going to be here, don’t want to be here, in bad form etc) over young talents.

 

I know he can play there, * he played wingback very well against Lille. Was sheer desire to be fair, I think he’s 100% an attacking midfielder though.

 

And stuff like that makes it even more frustrating that he doesn’t get a chance where he’s comfortable

He won’t ever be a star for us or win individual awards here but he could easily become a brilliant squad player.

 

I think he could be a star mate, he is creative as *. His movement, vision and weight of pass everytime we’ve seen his have been brilliant.

Just wish when he went to County Yogi was in charge then. He needs a full season of games.
