The bookies have suspended betting in regards to Keane

“On Monday, Keane was 15/2 to take over from Neil Lennon but punters heavily backed the Irishman into 1/3 before the market was suspended on Thursday afternoon.

“It seems clear to punters that Celtic are ready to name their new manager and that Roy Keane will be walking through the door any time now.”

This is being done for one reason. Advertisement value of the Scottish game. This is being made more of a Gerrard v Keane saga rather than an appointment to bring Celtic forward. Sickening if this happens.

Scandalous, The Keane rumours have me even hoping for maresca. If the board don’t hire quality then it’s 0 intent shown from them again 2 seasons in a row

What merits a managerial appointment to this board, I can see differing from most of the modern footballing world however.

Has the full backing of the board. Outstanding character. Wealth of experience. Involved in international management setup. Earned his stripes. Blah blah

I hope that supporters refuse to give Keane their backing if the board appoints him.

'I didn't want him either, but he's here now, so let's get behind him.'

No, thank you. That attitude has cost us dearly this season. We need to make it clear to the board that we will no longer tolerate cronyism.

    New one lads....

Xavi is coming in as head coach, Iniesta is coming in as player/assistant to replace the outgoing Brown and they have convinced Messi to come in for his last couple seasons with a view to being manager one day.

That Daily Mail article says that he is on a shortlist with Clarke, Marsch, and Wilder.

One of those things is not like the other.

I’m not asking names but i’m curious about your “source”. Do they work at Celtic or does their aunties cousins brother live near desmonds cleaner? Or is it make believe based on betting odds?

I still don't think he's gonna be the manager. No even a bit, despite the talk and him being pally with Desmond..

You're right though. They have completely mugged us off this year and particularly our paying customer's. They've taken the absolute * infront of all of our eye's and done nothing to rectify an abomination of a season. The audacity of some of the interviews from the likes of Desmond, Lawwell and Lennon have been staggering. As I said earlier, if that is Desmond's boy on twitter also then Jesus Christ..

You'd think they know fine well that it needs to be someone of either a big enough name in management or a young, up and coming coach with a real vision..

Keane is a dinosaur in a coaching sense and player's don't respond to his ilk anymore. We need someone to improve the player's and take them and us forward as a club for year's to come..

Roy Keane is never and never will be the answer..

    1. The Daily Mail aren't saying he's going to be manager
    2. It's Stephen McGowan in the Daily Mail, so what they're saying is unlikely to be a load of *.

What has Roy * Keane done to deserve the Celtic manager job?

His last job was a decade ago and he was hardly pulling up trees

Hang on; it’s still the same board that turned to a failed Bolton and Hibs manager to * the 10 making the decision ain’t it

    Desmond out

So Keane came out and said hed like the job. That makes DD think hed make a good Celtic manager. If hes appointed than this club will be an even bigger joke than appointing Lennon in the shower.

    Abso-*-lutely.

We need a whole new * team!!! What confidence is there that Keane would be able to build that, 10 years out the game with no club team management experience in that time. And don’t give me the ‘he’s got international experience’ talk - means * all

Yeah if it happens it will be a literal nightmare. Lennon (who you can barely call a manager) is actually better than Keane. It would be a backwards move which is unthinkable considering the * Lennon served up this season.

I hate all this "it will be box office" talk. Makes us look so cheap and *. We're probably the only club in world football who would even consider Keane right now, let alone give him an interview. What are the clubs aspirations, seriously?
