Was meant to be nightshift, it’s fair to say I never made it.

I love that goal. So how do we rate that one, the Naka one and the Maloney one ?

I love Thomo’s one but Naka’s strike was far more important imo.

Its Thomo all day long for me then, I actually think Naka’s technique is the worst out of the 3 but the keeper was all over the place.

I only had moved to Mayo on the west coast of Ireland and watching it in a liverpool pub. Only Celtic man in the pub wearing the hoops and the stick I got before the game as if we were going to get humped because they where liverpool. My head near went through the ceiling when hartson scored that goal. I went * bonkers and ended up grabbing a liverpool supporter by the ears and screaming in the * face while going nuts. Fantastic night that was. I actually had a choice of ticket's between that game or the cup final against the huns few days before it and picked the cup final. My da was gutted I picked the cup final because we got beat and being there beating liverpool at anifield would have been one of the best games we would have been at. But as fate has it, we met the fella at the cup final who promised us tickets for Seville if we reached it and ended up with 3. So not all bad haha. But what a * night watching that in that pub. Amazing!

Would love to have been properly into football at that time. We (and to be fair the other mob, albeit through less than legal means) genuinely had one of the best teams in Britain at the time. Must have been a very exciting period to experience in the flesh.

I really feel sorry for the people that didn’t see Lubomir Moravick.

He’s one of the most natural footballers you ever would see

My Granda who has watched us from the 1940s would tell me at the time, "remember that, I've been watching us 60 years....they don't come round very often"

    On this day....

    May 1 1971

The last time that the Celtic teamsheet read Simpson, Craig, Gemmell, Murdoch, Clarke, McNeill, Johnstone, Wallace, Chalmers, Auld & Lennox. In other words, the last time that the Lisbon Lions comprised the entire team from 1-11.

Ronnie Simpson was actually injured at the time and was subbed off before the game kicked off, but he is listed in the official teamsheet. Celtic defested Clyde 6-1, thanks to a Lennox hatrick, a Wallace brace and Chalmers netting the other.

Bertie Auld was carried from the field by his teammates after the game, as he was being released by the club, while both John Clarke & Stevie Chalmers also being released just 10 days later.
