the more i read about him the more i would be happy with this appointment ! Did well witha few lower league teams taking them into promotion from relegation spots ! Took over sheffield united bottom of the league and managed to win the league totaling 100 points ! Plays 352 and his teams can adapt to 532 ! Teams like to attack ! Hes never really managed a favourite for the league team so always had teams punching above there weight which could be handy in europe!

    Wilder? Get tae *.

Absolute nomark of a manager whos done the square root of * all to even suggest being able to do the job at Celtic or take us forward as we need in a modern context.

A EPL promotion is nice, but pretty much every team in the Championship who throws the right money at a team can do that - to then be relegated again shows he cant cut it remotely at the top level that we would want. CV is bland as * and shows nothing of note. Tony Mowbray would still be a better shout on paper at this stage.

Plus he's let McBurnie away with being a complete tool with his refusal to do a team huddle - if you can't bring that gormless * in to line and tell him to stop being a bigotted *, then I don't hold much hope for a guy like Wilder being able to tell Christie to stop being a prima donna and booting his attitude out either.

Wilder is the sort of manager we need to steer very much away from.
I'd take Kennedy before that sort of signing.

Happy to always be proven wrong, but seriously * all in his CV suggests he could do this job.

being able to go from a 352 to a 532 is not exactly tactical genius levels of management. It is literally telling your wingbacks to sit deeper.

According to Sheffield United News sources, the delay in Sheffield United announcing the departure of Chris Wilder is down to interest from Celtic.

Our sources tell us that despite reports yesterday the delay was down to Wilder’s hefty compensation package that is due if the club sack him, that it is actually Celtic who United are demanding money off.

The Scottish giants are said to be keen on bringing Wilder to Parkhead and sources tell us here at Sheffield United News that the Blades are indeed demanding the Bhoys pay a big chunk of change to land Wilder.

While it cannot be confirmed at the moment, it would explain the slight delay in the club making any sort of announcement.

We reported yesterday that both Celtic and Crystal Palace were said to have expressed an interest in Wilder. And while there is nothing from the club yet, both of those clubs would make sense.

Palace could seek a replacement for Roy Hodgson, while Celtic are looking for a replacement for Neil Lennon.

Chris Wilder to Celtic with Sheffield United demanding more money
As if the waiting game isn’t hard enough for us Blades fans, this has just added an extra element to things.

In terms of if it could happen, it remains to be seen. But it would make perfect sense as to why there is such a big delay in any announcement and it could also explain why nothing seems to be getting done.

Our same sources told us just a few weeks ago that Wilder could leave in March. Therefore, it’s certainly something that could well happen in the coming days.

its not genius but he obviously has signed players capable of it finishing 9 th in the premiership and like martin oneills celtic did ! Lennon tried it but lets face it failed ! So not just as simple as telling them to sit deeper !

So pish, it could be peak Celtic.

Claim we chased an EPL manager and wasted more money on his compo than we got for Rodgers (even though THEY sacked him, it seems), only to pick arguably the weakest and worst one of the 20.

I honestly don't see anything to this guy that doesn't scream a worse version of Tony Mowbray sort of levels.

I am not keen on these Wilder rumours. Really hope it is nothing.

Anyone who pays £20m for McBurnie needs to get their eyes and head checked

If Sheffield were on the brink of sacking Wilder, why would we go after him and pay a compensation fee ? With Lawell still there it doesnt make sense he would pay for someone we could get for free. Prob just another rumour generated by the bookies.

Wilder who kicked up a fuss at Sheffield Utd because they want a DoF and he doesn’t want to work with one.

    Load of pish.

    Nah.

Any manager needs to be allowed to bring in their own team.

Twice we've picked assistants for managers now and both times it hasn't worked out.
