A loan manager won’t be a hard role to fill. It’s more of a liaison role.

Wasn’t talking about that role. Meant in more of a general technical/analysis/scouting brief.

Is Juve’s chief scout genuinely want to leave them to come to us?

Wonder why they’re letting him go.
Do we even know if the guy can speak English?

I can’t get my head around somebody in that position in football to leave it to come to us, Juve’s one of the biggest clubs out there. You’d think he’d have his pick of anybody he wants, and pretty much any wage packet he wants as well.

Cuts most probably they are paying Ronaldo a fortune and likely to drop league also knocked out of Europe earlier than usual when you have a decent transfer budget you can cut scouting

Similar to Pablo Longoria who ended up working as chief scout under the DOF at Juve and then went to Valencia so he could build his own. Went to Marseille last week.

It’s basically the equivalent of a young assistant working under a top manager and then wanting to go out on his own and prove himself instead of hanging around hoping to luck into the managers position when something goes wrong. (like Kennedy)

The fact he’s desperate to go out and prove himself instead of sitting in one of the cushiest jobs in Europe is a massive positive.

And aye he speaks English, Spalletti took him to Zenit because of how good his English was.

He was in talks with Man Utd before, unsurprisingly, Woodward filled the positions with his own people.

Aye, Man Utd are a far different thing than us. Is he interested in us? Has he said anything?

He was quoted as saying he was interested in us. I don’t think it was a proper Director of Football role at Man Utd hence the appointment of Fletcher and the other guy linked to the club.

It sounds like he is keen to move up in roles hence why he did the qualification to further his career. So it might be Juve want to keep him as head scout where he sees his future as a DoF.

The only thing is if he came, was a success then like any decent manager or players will want to move for the first decent offer. Where we need someone committed for at least a few seasons to get us set up properly.

Not commented on it officially but has made it know to the press he’s interested.

Basically the opposite of that Webb * :giggle1:

    * sake.

I don’t know why but I’m suspicious as * about somecunt that would rather slum it in Scotland rather than be at one of the leading teams in Europe :56:

We should take Juventus scout all day long. Juventus are on 9 in a row. They also won the Coppa Italia 4 years in a row. Unrivalled success. Similar to Celtic. Like us their quest for 10 has been lost, it's going to Milan. I wonder if that's the reason his contract is up. But their success goes without saying. He must have signed a * of a lot of good players. However, If he wants to come to Scotland and we pay him top dollar. So be it. We'll need to hear him out on his signing market to see if it fits our biscuit tin budget!

Scotland has a great Italian connection with the immigrants from Barga etc opening up Ice Cream Shops etc. Tognozzi's Juventus, is a flavour of ice cream I'd be keen to taste! We should tell him, he'd fit right in! Massimo Donati loved it here, so much so that he signed for Hamilton!

I'm sold. Bring Football Italia to Parkhead!

Because he’s no chance at the top job at Juve.

It’s not that uncommon in roles like that. In American sports where a GM/Head of Operations or whatever they call it works the same way. People in successful systems/infrastructure want to go out build their own, they’ll jump at the chance from being second in command at the best run teams to go to teams that are absolute bomb sites because they want to build something.

It’s a different meaning of a challenge. A player/coach challenges themselves against the best players/coaches, someone in a technical role like that proves themselves by building an infrastructure and turning the club around.

It’s probably just weird because so many people in Scottish football are happy to sit and take easy money and * scared to go out and prove themselves.

He won’t see it as slumming it. He’ll be looking at it as us being a bit of a mess on the pitch, a complete mess off it but with outrageous potential.

In his mind he’ll be thinking(hopefully) he can come in here and turn us into CL regulars, have one of the best scouting systems in Europe, and putting in place an academy system that sets us up for the future.

Think what we’ve achieved without any vision or structure in place. Imagine what will be possible with just some professionalism and accountability never mind ability and knowledge.

Juventus are one of the teams really pushing for reforming the Champions league. It wouldn't hurt to have someone who's worked there on our side...

Seriously why do we need a DoF if we appoint the right manager ?
