Something I’ve started to get into lately. Stopped smoking cigarettes 5 year ago, recently took a fancy for trying a few cigars. Only 1 a week but quite enjoying reading up on the different types and trying them out. Go brilliant with a whisky or bourbon. So far H Upmann is my favourite. Anyone else into these, any recommendations?

If they ain’t rolled on the thigh of a Cuban virgin then I’m not interested.

That’s probably a myth so I have never tried a cigar.

    They must cost a premium.

Only ever have them when on holiday. Enjoy it with a whisky or southern comfort on ice.

Cohiba Robusto is my favourite if a little pricey.
Cant go wrong with a Montecristo or romeo y julieta.

Definately dont like the Punch brand though. One of schwarzenegger' favorite cigar apparently.

I like a cigar on a special occasion, get mine from Billingtons in Lenzie. They’ve got a wee cigar cabinet.

Couldn’t tell you too much about them tbh just give them a rough budget and pick up a couple when there’s a wedding or whatever coming up.

I’d agree they do best with a dram.

I used to love the smell of a tin of cafe creme cigars because that's what my dad smoked. Have tried the big chunky cigars in the past but tbh I never got any real enjoyment out of it.

As an ex smoker when drunk on special occasions I have been tempted to partake in the odd cigar, mainly cajoled by son and father who both love them.

Always ends the same way with me spewing my ring up not long after.

    Ill learn eventually.

Never heard of the punch brand. I’ve got a cohiba, Monte and Romeo Juliet in the humidor. Will blaze one of the * with a drink next weekend

I am not in the habit of smoking cigars, but I second the Cohiba Robusto recommendation. Romeo y Julieta make good cigars, too.
