Starting to have my bedroom window open for the Dawn chorus as Spring is here. This morning the first I could make out was a lovely Blackbird near my window. I could several other Blackbirds further away.
A Robin was also singing in my garden very sooner after, then a Wren and then a Dunnock joined the band. Also the Rookery several hundred metres chattered more and more. A Wood Pigeon joined in and the odd Herring Gull was heard.
I will be doing this a good few times this spring. It is fantastic and the earlier the better. A special atmosphere, and each species reminds me You of different places and memories over many years. :84:
So just the 7 species heard this morning. I think that will easily be beat very soon.

Thanks Pete and John, is the bird in the pics before the Dunnock a Reed Bunting, the markings look similar but the colouring is different.

Thanks Cider. I've never seen a Dunnock that looks that bright before. I'm used to seeing them in their usual brown/dark gray colours.

Spring is on the air. The lovely sound of a singing Chaffinch singing in my garden this morning as I put the refuse out delighted me.
Then a bit later in my local woods with Ruby Roo the cool sound of a drumming Great Spotted Woodpecker And the laughing call of its bigger cousin the Green Woodpecker.
    Spring is here:84:

If any of you wildlifer's are interested , I watched that programme at the weekend Inside Chernobyl , programme deals with the reactor explosion and how the population were evacuated over 30 years ago . It will be a thousand years before humans can live there but the fascinating thing is how the surrounding lands are engulfing the buildings and forestation
is taking over and the wildlife returning to there is truly amazing ! '
    Well worth a look Channel 5 10: pm .
