“A new manager might come in and see me just turning 36 and think I’m not going to be part of it.”

Took from browns interview , think kennedy may have already been told he wont get it full time ? He has played down any talk of getting the job full time

I reckon a stonking corker of a PR move is waiting in the wings

We’re waiting till they get their first title and 24 hours later announce some kind of ‘rip it up and start again’ dream team managerial package

    You heard it here first

It just has to be a blockbuster appointment. It won’t be Kennedy for * sake. Nothing else will appease the fans who are disillusioned at best right the noo.

Exactly right - there has to be an agreed understanding of who is responsible for what and what they are trying to achieve.

Doesn't have to be an "Old Pals Act" but you can't just appoint a DoF and then a Head coach and say - hey you two work together.

Spurs tried that with Frank Arnesen and Jacques Santini (both excellent football men) and Santini left after less than 3 months because they couldn't work together.

If the DoF comes first, he has to have the major say in the hiring of the head coach - not have someone foisted on him.

We don’t need a ‘blockbuster’ appointment so it takes the Huns off the back pages.

We simply need to hire a coach who suits us and is fit for the modern game.

Wether that’s a rookie or a Champions League or World Cup winner shouldn’t matter.

Obviously they need to have a good working relationship but that's not the same as having previously worked together etc.

Our DOF needs to be a long term appointment. The manager could be here for a couple of years like a player and move on if he's really successful like the players but the DOF needs to be here for I while I think minimum 5 years.

Peter Lawwell has been operating as chief executive and DOF for years now. Think how much better we could have done if we had a football man making our signings.

Starting to dear Gordon Strachan is hanging around too much these days and his boy at the club gives me the fear.

Sean Dyche? Thats the guy with the silly ginger beard and even sillier pointy sideburns (he's shaved them off now i think). People may think im joking but anyone who thinks thats a good look sets alarm bells ringing for me, what does that say about his judgement and general common sense. * that.

I think the silver bullet Hollywood appointment is not going to happen. It’ll be Kennedy. Have a feeling.

After what we saw today (as well as the rest of the season) it's clear that we need a quality manager and several half decent players in the door. Hopefully, several of the existing backroom staff and the underperforming players will be going in the opposite direction

Yeah, too many Strachans for sure. Wasn’t his other boy a Celtic youth coach until recently?

GS as DOF and JK as manager? A bit anticlimactic and tepid, imo. But, it could be worse than those two.

With the amount of players going to leave the DOF should be brought in now. The DOF should also be the one that appoints the manager.

I don't know what is worse than those two, other than literally what we just had last week!

Would be massively underwhelming and a continuation of job for the boys.
Some will welcome WGS with open arms, but honestly, it would just be another kick in the nads for me and turn me right off again.

the only down point to this, the CEO should be appointing the DoF - I wouldn't for one moment trust Lawwell to currently do that.

I know McKay aint coming in earlier than originally planned, but if he can do ONE thing before the end of March, it should be to tell the club who to appoint as a DoF and entrust him to then select the manager etc.
