He's at least sounding and looks happier since he's taken over/Lennon has gone.

As always only rumour but didn't they have some disagreement and basically that was a reason towards our overly majorly never seen before deteriorated season?

I was always so hopeful for Kennedy to make the step up.
Never had the chance to fulfil his football potential but with that he hit the books and the pitch for his coaching badges.

Been very unsure of him. Also it has been put to bed about being a defense coach....hes an all round coach bit as an ex defender....* me we have had the worst defence for years.

Anywho.....nowhere near what we need as currently we need a full blown clear out.

Also...to add again.... I feel damien duff leaving as well left a bigger dent to our coaching than we might have thought.
Said it during pre season that he added so much that I never really noticed.
    Might have been the name...
And the fact he really loves celtic too.
But so do all our coaches.

Anyway. Time to go john...best of luck end of the season

Very much playing politics with assessment of how he see's the opportunity and whenever talking about Lennon. Wouldn't expect anything else.

Couple things stand out/read between the lines
    1. mentioned McManus stepping up as being an extra man ON the training ground and that the players NEED more contact time with coaches on the whole. Maybe reading too much in to the thinking that Lennon doesn't do much of either.
    2. multiple times in the second half of this he brings up about not wanting players to be greedy, to take the glory shots etc. Can't help but feel that one is specifically aimed at Christie.
    3. He's picked up on the defensive side of things and the issues with set pieces, as did the last manager, but will he actually do something about it?

Came across well tbh, difficult situation for him and seemed to have a wee dig about emotional decision making under the pressure for the 10..

Hope he does well then gets a job somewhere else as boss be interested to see how he gets on... Should have really have taken the Hibs job when he had a chance, maybe he was showing loyalty to the club who have been good to him after his career was ended...

The thing is though mate for the amount of times Lennon turned to him looking for assistance the guy probably realised long ago just like we did that Lennon doesn’t seem to listen to anyone else advice which was another of his major downfall s so guys aswell just shrugging his shoulders

Aye especially when he was so heavily reliant on Kennedy when he first came back..

There might be an element of resentment that Lennon seemed to change a fair bit of what the rat and his staff had implemented. The more he got his feet under the table, the worse it's seemed to be..

    Who knows..

Which calls into question even further why he was foisted upon Lennon in the first place?

A manager needs to have a working relationship with an assistant. They need someone that can challenge their dafter ideas and do the 'good cop, bad cop' at times when sterner words are needed for an underperforming player.

If as you're suggesting Kennedy thought Lennon wasn't listening to his advice then he could've held his hands up himself that the relationship wasn't working.

Hopefully there will be no more sympathy positions for former players. Guys should get a job on merit and any manager that we trust to lead us, should by extension be trusted enough to identify his own back-room team.

I don't know if I'm being too in the moment by getting rid of him. He could go on to be a stalwart at the club like McGrain or he could be part of the problem.

I also have no idea what he does behind the scenes.

I think it’s plainly obvious that we’ve not had a defensive coach for years

An out and out defensive coach - no. More than likely plays a big part in the defensive side of things given his position as a professional footballer - yes.

All that will change is he gets blamed for the attack and midfield now as well as defence. :giggle1:
