Not even on the bench tonight. Might be reading to much into it but it seems quite telling

Nah I don’t think you’re reading too much into it at all. Definitely telling.

Considering what we paid then he would be right up there with the worst when you look at value for money. In fact, I would put him second behind Scheidt.

His positioning is better than Bain's. He also comes out for crosses successfuly unlike Bain. The more, his distribution is much better. Bain has conceded more goals with the same * defence.

I'm not saying Barkas is brilliant. He clearly has a very poor season and we need better. But of the three goalkeepers we have he's still the best, without making any dives. How he seem unable to dive since he's with us? I don't * unterstand it either.

But as he's not any worse than the other two we should play him and at least try to get him back to the AEK level he had. And you can also ask, how many games has Bain won us ? As few as Barkas I would say. We know Bain won't just improve but we know Barkas could. Therefore it makes more sense to play him.

Need to have a look at him , all be it with a competent manager and an organised settled defence , we cant just chuck £5 million away after Lennon's disasters this season he doesn't know * he is doing .

Disagree with all of that tbh.

None of them are particularly good, but Barkas is by no means whatsoever the best. Bain is a decidedly average, mid table team level keeper but he is, unfortunately, the better option for us at the moment. Without defending Bain, off the top of my head, I can recall him saving a penalty in Lille and making crucial saves in the 3-2 game at ibrox, Barkas has contributed nothing similar.

What evidence I there that barkas could improve? Of the three, the one with the best chance of improving is surely Hazard.

Bain isn’t great but to suggest at this stage that Barkas has done more/better is a bit stupid to say the least.

Bain has at least had several good games for us in amongst some pish as well. Cup final/treble treble winning keeper etc. Performance out in Valencia, Lille etc. Games against the Huns.

Some of the blinkers put on over Barkas because he’s supposedly played well in Greece would be near enough using the same logic as keeping Duffy cause he was good in the EPL/International level.

I don’t really care what anybody does outwith a Celtic shirt. They’ll be judged on what they do here and that’s that.

Barkas's positioning is *. The goals he has conceded, his positioning and no moving his feet have been to blame on a few occasions. I wouldn't say he has shown that his distribution is better than Bain's either. He deals with crosses better than Bain and Hazard. One thing Bain does that Barkas doesn't though, and it's quite a big part of being a goalkeeper, is make saves. Barkas has genuinely not made a save of note yet, not one. We need a goalkeeper in the summer because none of them are good enough, but to try and argue Barkas has been better than Bain is nonsense in all honesty.

Bain is what he is, and will never improve.
OK, so there is no evidence to suggest that Barkas will improve but we need to find out.
He was decent with AEK, so we should play him till end of season and then make a call.

Kennedy won't work wonders, but I think it's worth re-instating him for a few games and see how he gets on, feel like a lot of players will feel relieved that Lennon is gone.
