We should probably hold fire on calling him * or making him one of our biggest ever signings. There’s a pretty big middle ground here :giggle1:

Carl Ancelotti has addressed Jonjoe Kenny's long-term future after the right-back made his Celtic debut last night.

The Englishman joined until the end of the season on loan from Everton at Parkhead and played 90 minutes against Kilmarnock in a 4-0 win at Rugby Park.

Kenny was complimented by manager Neil Lennon but as being a "gritty little hard man" but it was the boss of his parent club, Ancelotti, who had the most telling statement on the defender and where he may play his football in future.

Asked if Kenny has a long-term future at Goodison, Ancelotti responded: "Yes. He is our player from the Academy. He had experience in Schalke, where he did really well.

"He came back and he did not find the space or the opportunities to play a lot. And so, we decided to give him the opportunity to play for six months to see what happens and he will be back in the summer."

Kenny, 23, was signed on deadline day as a replacement for Jeremie Frimpong who left for Bayer Leverkusen last week

Jonjoe makes me think of good old boys, the kind that have names like Jimminy Billy Bob.

He's average at best, not interested in loans either now.

His passing was poor and the moment that capped it for me was trying to pull the ball down in the 2nd half and it went flying off his foot straight to a Killie player who attacked the box and we managed to clear, literally 20 seconds a huge Gary owen clearance from us and their left back killed the ball stone dead with one touch.

I'll say again, not interested in a loan, especially a 6 month loan that offers nothing to us, just give Ralston a prolonged run until we find someone if he isn't good enough, which most probably he ain't.

What's the worst that can happen? Lose the league?

I thought it was a good debut. Promising stuff from him.

Ralston is utter jobby. He has as much of a future here as Kenny.

I didn't want him playing after 1 minute, he's overrated value wise, did he look a £10m+ player to you, that's what Everton will want.

If he was maybe a lengthy loan, but not interested in 6/12 month loans now, play youth or buy someone.

    You decided after 1 minute..

    Thanks. That'll do..

I don't know what his 10 mill price tag had to to with him being * within 20 minute's....in your eye's..

Probably is, but what do we lose, instead we're playing some guy umpteen grand who there is zero chance to buy, and probably not value for money anyway.

And no doubt if we continue this malaise into the next game with them and he gets his * ripped, he'll be * like everyone else, countless players have been written off after defeat to them.

I'm fed up playing nursery for other clubs.

Not really arsed about this guy. He’s here for pretty much dead rubber games and then offski in the summer again.

Lack of forward planning is absolutely shocking at this club.

If this Nick Hammond fella is meant to be the DOF then he should have been forward planning for the qualifiers the past 5/6 months. Yet we seem to have had only 1 target during the window that we missed out on.

He can gtf with Lennon, Lawwell etc as well.

Thought the guy did okay, though the stream I watched the game on last night had to be refreshed every 2 minutes, and so I couldn’t accurately assess his debut. I have a hunch that he’ll do well here, though, and make a good impression.

Lets just give him a few games. Cant have been easy to come into such a toxic environment and perform on a lego pitch.

Not really that impressed from his first game.

Won't be here next year so no point.

    Waste of space.

Is Hammond meant to be DOF? I thought he was supposed to be chief scout? If he's DOF he's doing a TERRIBLE job. If he's just scouting, we'll never know what he does/did, as there's about 3 layers between his work and what we see

Edit: totally agree on forward planning bit. I'd say the same about structures and roles in the club overall
