Sad to hear of the death of any older citizen, but elephant in the room is always going to be about a 100 year old being brought on a long distance foreign holiday by his family during a lockdown/pandemic.

If he was part of the Windrush generation and had gone to the Caribbean I doubt the British press would be as forgiving.

Condolences to his family all the same.

Except he wasn’t brought on a long distance trip by his family - it was a destination that was on his ‘bucket list’; he wanted to go, and there was a travel corridor with the UK at the time.

The man wasn’t stupid - he knew the risk and he chose to go. I think he had earned himself that right.

You will hopefully have noted that I said ‘he had earned himself that right’.

Celtic had not ‘earned’ the right for their jolly - quite the opposite!

What are you alluding to? That he was stupid to have fulfilled a life dream because it potentially shortened his life!?

At his age - and with his frailty - just getting out of his bed on a daily basis substantially increased his risk of death!

I couldn't give a * about the old boy truth be told.

I made a fair point by comparing him to what Celtic did - travelled abroad during a pandemic.
