When I say put yer house on the huns retaining the league next year I mean it, we’re signing * no one this window were going to have to get 8 or 9 new players to gel in the space of a month..

No one is going to sign for us with Lennon there and all the turmoil that is going on. Can only see a desperate player signing that he knows nobody wants him, makes a few pound then moves on without playing too much football with us.

Mind we've had all window to replace Jullien and here we are on the 31st January about to lose our supposed top, and seemingly only, target to the champions of England for £2M.

I'm beyond embarrassed at this point. How far we have fallen under Lennon is frightening.

Liverpool in talks to sign Preston North End defender Ben Davies in a surprise £2million deal.

Davies had agreed to go to Celtic in the summer and talks had advanced to bring that deal forward but Liverpool have now stepped in a bid to sign the 25-year old and add a specialist centre back to their depleted squad.

Liverpool are still working on other targets but they will send Sepp van den Berg to Preston as cover for Davies’s departure.

Davies has been a regular at the back for the Championship side this season, playing in 19 out of Preston's 27 second-tier matches. Alex Neil's side are 12th in the Championship, six points behind the play-off spots.



Jurgen Klopp's Reds have suffered several injury woes at centre-back this season with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez picking up long-term injuries at the back end of 2020.

Furthermore, Joel Matip has struggled for consistency fitness-wise, while stand-in defender Fabinho has also missed several matches this season due to troubles on the treatment table.

Apart from Anthony Joseph there wasn't really anything to suggest were working on a deal for this guy anyway or was there?

 

Did anyone at the Club come out and actually say we were trying to sign him? I know there was the usual stuff going around about pre-contract from Sky. Surley if we had then there would have been an official announcement? Cant help but think this has just been a manufactured rumour to make it look like we are going to sign someone this window when in reality who would want to sign for us with everything that is going on at the Club?

With everyone else played out of position, makes sense in a Lennon world.

 

Or the players agent did it to drum up interest. I dont think we have even tried to sign him tbh
