His brand was toxic among the support, now we will see Dom McKay promoting ST renewal in the coming months trying sanitise past failures, learning from the past and moving towards oncoming glories.....

***This is not a slant at Dom McKay given hes only in the door

As he took over we were uefa cup finalists, a club that others feared coming to play.
    Paradise was a fortress.
Beating Juventus, Liverpool etc was not unheard of at all.

    That's what he took over.

He now leaves us as the whipping boys to ferencravos, Cluj, etc with no hope of making it to the champions League, let alone being able to go toe to toe with some.
In fact, regular beatings by 5 and 7 goals is fairly common, compared to being feared.

29 trophies sounds impressive, well it would if you was here for 17 * years.

I don't belittle our 9 in a row or the quadruple, but it heavily favours a stat. Half his time here has been since the Huns died and we got a free run at things - 20 odd of those 29 trophies have came in that half.

So is this a bit of a deflection tactic, announcing now instead of completing the review?

Yes. Probably. It's how we roll.

As McKay has just been announced we can safely file that iphone note/What's App message under Pish.

Ross Desmond is joining in some capacity. Not sure exact role though.

Would imagine he is basically filling in for DD and taking a more hands on approach with the club.

I haven't seen the note, so don't know what it said specifically, but there is nothing to stop DD's son being appointed to the board just because a new CEO has been announced. It could be as a non executive director for example.

When PL took over players in the epl were moving for 2,3,4 million, today clubs like wolves are spending 30 million on a player and that is considered cheap. The world of football has moved on and so have most clubs and their finances. We are still only getting for winning the league what some clubs spent 17 years ago on a player. The guy has his faults but he was always fighting a losing battle.

Totally agree and don't expect us to be actually beating and getting to the finals again.

But being the whipping boys of ferencravos and Cluj, not able to even put up a fight against the bigger teams.
That's weak from the club, lawwell done that.

"our supporters will always be everything to our success."

    :56::56::56:

From the mouth of a man who erected fences outside the stadium to keep them away, after a period of radio silence.

    -----

"We need our fans with us to achieve that success."

A plea to not engage in any means to take back control of OUR football club.

Lawwell going is only 1 part of it.

The majority shareholder and chairman who have shown disdain against the support are still there.

His wages have matched or bettered the CEO's down South in that time though, not quite a losing battle.

Have to say this that 2 million extra he was getting could have secured wages for a blue chip player
