Very calm, measured replies. Thats more like it Lennie

With a few divas out the door for big $$$ in the next few days and some smart buys / loans into the squad we might see a new dawn.

Good to see him undermine the Barkas today in today's interview. I'm sure that will help in the long term.....ffs

If we put a decent run together between now and the end of the season, I can already see the Board renewing his contract and blaming the pandemic for this season.

Yeah right - its all down to these 'Diva' players and nothing to do with Lennon's woeful management. Once these 'Divas' have gone, Lennon/PL can bring in some quality players like "Barkas, Duffy, Ajeti and we'll be as right as rain.

I'm starting to worry the reason we haven't got rid yet is financial and we can't afford a decent replacement

Aye and the Motherwell game after the Ferenczvaros defeat, he only picked the same team to try and prove a point.

This is his biggest failing. He lets the market value/resale value of a player decide who starts. Or more bluntly- he lets Lawwell choose the starting XI, at least partially. No spine whatsoever to oppose the input of a man who has no clue about football, yet holds the purse strings.

I think you're bang on. There is absolutely no reason that works as to why he hasn't been punted the now.

NEIL LENNON is planning to talk to Peter Lawwell over some late transfer additions after Jeremie Frimpong’s Bayer Leverkusen switch.

The full-back made a big money £11.5million move to the Bundesliga

And now Celtic boss Lennon hopes to add one or two more bodies to add some strength and depth to his defensive ranks.

The Parkhead side are understood to have notified Preston they have opened pre-contract talks with defender Ben Davies and they could even try to bring him in this month with the transfer window set to slam shut on Monday night.

Speaking after the 2-0 win over Hamilton Accies, he said: “We need strength and depth in the defensive area and we are working away to bring one or two in.

“We may look at the right-back and central defensive positions.

“I will speak to Peter Lawwell. Will we spend? We’ll see. We haven’t been immune to this pandemic.

“There might be options in the next couple of days that we don’t expect.

But Christopher Jullien is out long term and Jeremie has gone, so we are looking at those areas.

Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard grabbed the goals as Celtic put an end to their four-game winless run.

Scott Bain was also handed the gloves in place of £5million Vasilas Barkas – who was axed
    due to poor displays
Lennon said: “I was pleased with the performance. It was a good team display, very positive.

“We played with good pace and variation. I am delighted with the team and their attitude.

“We missed a few chances and could have racked up more goals.

“But that’s just a small disappointment. We scored two good goals and it gives us something to build on."

On Barkas, he added: "We went with Vasilis but I don't think his performances have merited keeping his place.

"He needs more time to develop to the rigours of the British game.

"He needs to physically develop a bit more as well, so I went with Scott for the experience.

“I don’t think Vas has settled and I don’t think he’s the presence he can be.

“I think he can improve his physicality, his shot-stopping and influence around the box.

He has good ability but we haven’t seen the best of him.

“I think we will see the best of Vasilis as we go along but not just at this present moment.

“I have spoken to him on a number of occasions during the season. We are hoping and expecting more from him.

“He understands and he is one who has suffered with the way life is at the minute.

“Sometimes we take it for granted that players will adapt immediately. Some take longer and he is in that category.

“Vasilis has admitted that he probably hasn’t been at his best

If he wins the Cup I guarantee he'll be there next season.

Its just excruciating the way in every press conference he contradicts what he said in the previous or earlier ones. For example, on transfers in Jan 'not expecting and big moves out'. 26 Jan - Frimpong goes. 'That was brewing for 6 or 7 weeks'. FFS. So, he is either a) a liar or b) a * moron. Take yer pick

It's not that his statements on Barkas are incorrect- it's the previous support of Barkas that makes Lennon look confused.
