Haven’t seen many of these films that have been nominated.

Avatar is a great film. Definitely enjoyed it more the second time

 

Sounds like the very definition of mystic fantasy to me, lol. Highlander II is def sci-fi, but there is a reason why it feels so disconnected from the other films in that series, both before and after. But the first one, of it's own merits - sorry, no.

And yes, spot on it was Dark City. My brother, his mate & I were part of the 'Strangers' and were in a few different scenes in that movie.

I agree, it's a tough genre to define. Some films are non sci-fi until near the end too, like Lucy.

Very true. Oh, and as mentioned above, it was Dark City. Was visiting Sydney on a short holiday to catch up wiyh my brother and pure right place, right time and guess right look, along with his flatmate at the time, we ended up as part of the 'Strangers' and were in a few different scenes in that movie, in the background, at a distance and up high.

Used to watch this on a daily basis when I was a wee guy. Took in two rescue cats a couple years ago, named them Val and Earl.
