Real Sociedad has an excellent record of bringing players through its academy and into its first team.

If Alonso shares credit for that, we could do worse.

 

You can see why clubs knock us back when he’d surely be on at least 3/4x as much down in the premiership?

In any case, I do not want Moyes anywhere near this club. His style of football is * dreadful.

What we need is a manager who knows how to get his team to play on the front foot and can break down tough defences, someone who has some decent * tactical knowledge and for the love of * somecunt who can actively bring through youth prospects into the first team (not just for the odd game).

If it was the likes of Alonso we would need to work with him to identify a team around him, not just throw him in with no real support ala Ronny Delia or Lennon really as well.

Dreadful football but I think he would've sealed the 10 for us..

The Huns have Lennon's number. Clarke certainly has their's, particularly at home under Clarke..

We would never have been conceding the kind of goals or amount under a Clarke outfit either..

Anycunt. Honestly, just get him to * and put anyone in charge till the end of this humiliation of a season. Roy Keane, Martin O'Neill, Tony Mowbray, John Barnes, literally anyone.

 

Supposedly betting has been suspended on Howe being our new manager.

Lampard will be getting the sack from Chelsea soon I reckon. I think he'd be a good fit.

 

Just supposing Howe was to be named the new manager it wouldn't be that straight forward. Howe would know everything that is and has been going on at the Club. He wouldn't just walk into the job blind, he would speak to Rodgers. No doubt Rodgers would speak highly of the club and would prob encourage him to take it, on condition, that Lawell is not there. I think that's the problem, if Lawell steps down as CEO does the stock exchange not need to be informed first ? There will be a handing over period for CEO's, how does Lawell persuade Howe or any decent manager to come in while he is there?
With the transfer window shutting in less than 2 weeks and us showing no interest in signing anybody , not even the much needed CB to cover for Julien, Lennon will be seeing out the season. I cannot see Howe taking up the post of our manager if he doesn't have any decent defensive players to work with to at least steady the ship

 

The rebuild is going to be massive and first stage of it has to be the manager. No point in a manager coming in, in the summer when all the players can’t be arsed after playing dead rubbers for months and will just want away from
here for something new and exciting.

Bring someone in now, change it up it will add a spark to the team and we can at least put a good run of wins and performances together and the manager can see who he wants to keep and also who he wants to add that will fit the system he wants to use.

UCL qualifier are always vital but with the Zombies most likely breezing into the groups and the financial impact from COVID we really need it or we could be stuck in a rut and Rangers could go for a a few in a row too.

 

Betting on howe suspended!

 

Lawwell being rumoured to step down after this season could also be why we are doing everything to delay changes, no one's coming in with him in charge, nor with rumours of s major change upstairs so soon.


Howe would be one of those who'd be unsure to take that job on with so much about to change.


Lampard shouts are interesting if only because it would be good to see him school the Scouse Ned and put him back in his place again.

But, * that we aren't at (or shouldn't be at) that level.
