Lack Of Signings! A Worry?

Does anyone else feel that since the huns game we have had no news on the transfer senario. Kinda likenwe will do with whatbwe have till summer?

 

No point giving Lennon more money to blow. This season is gone, bring in a new manager and give him the money for the summer.

I'd be mortified if Lennon was bringing new players in.

Part of me wants new players so we don't either finish 30 odd points behind the huns or worse come 3rd. I wouldn't write either off.
Then another part comes to me and thinks they are saving the usual 3 to 5m spend in January for a new manager in the summer.

Number of reasons for me. Yer taking a pure punt on players, no scouting allowed. Manager probs won’t be here come the summer. Some at the club probably realise ST renewals may be a struggle this year. They also should realise they might need to take a hit on the renewals to keep the fans on the good side. Also the unknown landscape of Covid and how it’s going to evolve over the next year.

I know it’s not relevant to the thread but I would expect like me ST holders will be holding out for a discount next year for that Pish to Paradise * we’ve been fed all year.

Anyway we might chance a loan to buy but it’ll be a Toljan, Weah, Burke type player who will probs be here for 6 months and never seen again.

 

It’s actually my favourite January window in years.

Don’t really care if we lose anyone, don’t really care if we sign anyone.

Would take this every year.

If we're to salvage the 10 we're going to need some fresh faces.

So yes it's a worry, but rest assured even if we were only a few points behind we still would be dithering about.

 

Would rather we didn’t spend a penny on another player just now and invested in a decent manager this month.

Get the new guy in now before the summer and have a bit of forward planning for a change.

 

If he brought in new players it might suggest they were considering keeping him on past the end of this season, so if it's a choice, I'd take no more signings. I can only assume he's working his notice now, that's what I hope anyway.

 

Don't expect much from this board, but slightly glad we arent wasting more money at least on this useless manager.
Although we are wasting valuable time with him.

I expect some random "project" that will be exciting, but inevitably no one knows, nor the manager wants and will be wasted for the next 18months before being loaned out to some random Belgium club and released in 2025.
On top of that, some random loan to pretend we are in a title run/challenge.

 

No point at all of bringing in anyone, unless it was under a new manager with a view to the qualifiers.

We're out of the League and out of Europe.

If anything I would be looking to offload players to give us a decent kitty for the massive rebuild that we're going to need.

Lennon, Kennedy, Strachan and Lawwell should be playing no part in that rebuild though. I don't want any of their paws anywhere near it.

 

We blew nearly 18 million in the summer and got worse.No way in * are we spending now and maybe not even in the summer.Depends on who leaves.

 

Don’t want another penny given to Lennon.

He has pretty much wasted the money he has been given, bar a few signings.

This exactly. If we were signing players - it would indicate that the club think that Lennon and/or Kennedy will have a role to play next season.

I hope we bring no-one in so the new management team will have more available funds and won't be stuck with any more players they wouldn't want.

If we sign someone now, even if it's a class player, he will play like Barkas by summer. No need to waste players now.
