It’s a nice weight and comfortable which is what you want. Don’t wear it much. Tend to wear less expensive watches daily. Nice silver chunky Michael Kors and have a 1960s Russian parachute military automatic watch I got for a tenner of some guy. It was from the first Gulf war and taken off either a prisoner or dead soldier. It was given to a press reporter from Belfast who was based in Iraq. Apparently the USSR provided a lot of stuff to the Iraqi forces. In reality it’s only worth probably £40/50 but the story makes it and I’ve ended up with it because a guy was looking drink money. Not gloating about that but somebody was gonna give him the money and I have looked after it and got a new strap on it. Will post a pic of it tomorrow.

That is a beauty mate. Love the simplicity of it and probably what makes it along with the 70s style Gucci strap.

I've always loved that strap ever since i was a teenager back in the late 70's early 80's, used to stop and gaze at them in the Argyle arcade in Glasgow city centre, always dreamed of owning one, then i clocked the price lol.

Some nice Jewellers and antiquarians in that Argyle arcade. Went in with some nice diamond and sapphire jewellery to get a quote a couple of years back. Just to see the difference from Belfast jewellers.

Give you a tenner reward, as long as you leave the * stains on it :100:

When I was a youngster, I stayed next door to the actor Tommy Flanagans' mother and he came to see her one day when I was about 8 or 9 and he gave me this watch. He said he kept it from being a KGB agent when he was in the movie 'the saint'. Still got it to this day.

Had to check to see who Tommy Flanagan was. My da was actually drinking with him when he was filming in Belfast a few years back. Big Celtic man and had come into the pub to watch a Celtic European match and ended up sitting with my da and ma.

Always swore I'd never get a watch that's too trumpy..

    Just no worth the hassle..

Most expensive I've had is a tag watch about 8 hundred quid roughly I paid maybe just over from Austin Kaye that was second hand..

Wouldn't get a rolex or anything like that. My brother got stabbed recently for his watch but didn't give it up then chased somewhere else for it another guy spotted it and pulled a blade on him. The second one he left in our local chippy and he went back and the * has seen him come out so pulled the blade on the guy in the chippy. When my brother went back they said the guy took it :90:

So instead of saying * that he got a more expensive one..

Another pal of mine collects loads and I said why. He said it's an investment for the future. The silly * us now looking at 2/3 year's in the jail and has a mortgage. I said what you said to the missus...he said fuckall but he'll leave a couple of kettle's out nearer the time that she can use if I'm away for too long to cover the mortgage etc :giggle1:

    Some investment..

I'll stick to walking about with my smartwatch in the summer knowing or wee tag if I fancy one again.....with zero stress that I'm gonna get caught slipping anywhere I go..
