CELTIC TRAINING CAMP IN DUBAI

It's not helped their image that they approved the trip. However, surely they aren't mutually exclusive. The government can approve the trip because it was legal, while still not being big fans of it. If they had denied the club the trip to Dubai then the club would have been asking on what grounds, given it wasn't against guidelines at the time.

I'd imagine it's similar to many guidelines throughout the last year. Some things (meeting others, going inside peoples homes etc) were technically allowed, but we should still be trying to avoid doing them if we could.

When this trip was arranged a couple months back, things were starting to look a little bit more positive with the vaccines coming. But since then the pandemic has become much worse. The club should have realised that it wasn't the best look to * off to Dubai during it all.

Edit - Plus, I have no doubt this was sold as a warm weather training camp. Yet on day one there's phots of the players and manager out on the *. So that has to be taken into account.

 

Sturgeon’s comments plays right into the boards hands. Build a siege mentality against the establishment and distract from the shambolic management.

Aye, I think this is similar to what I was saying to @NomDePlum yesterday.

I don't think ScotGov should be making comments about things that are legal but they kinda don't like; particularly when they haven't made comment about plenty things that have broken the law such as their own Chief Medical Officer breaking lockdown rules, Rugby players, Huns etc.

The club should 100% have given this trip a bye but that's a separate issue to the SNP wading in on it.

Their crusade against football has been going on for years and it's time they were challenged.

What did the club expect? Everyone else is under a stay at home order but it's OK for us to * off to Dubai for a few days at the pool? We don't even have a winter break. The criticism was predictable and to be honest I agree with it.
