Tad unfair that. He knows his place in the team and does what is asked of him with no moaning... fair enough he is paid well for it but so are others around him that are equally to blame.

 

You’re missing the point. It’s not about Bitton, it’s the fact we continually find ourselves playing a CM at CB in massive, season defining games. And we have been for a few seasons now.

Poor planning, recruitment etc.

When’s the last time he played CM? Or CM regularly?

2019/20: 20 apps, 18 as a defender, 2 in midfield
2018/19: 6 apps, all as a midfielder
2017/18: 16 apps, all as a defender

Selected ahead of a centre half who is costing the guts of 40k a week.

We needed 2 centre half prior to the season. We got one, after being pumped out of Europe and 5 games into the season, who doesn't fit the requirements for what we need of someone to play that position.

Our transfer and recruitment process is and has been a shambles for years. Playing qualifiers with Eoghan O'Connell and Grandpa Toure. Signing guys after we need them, not before it.

Trying to bed in players halfway through a season.

Having to completely alter formations because Forrest got injured and we shipped out all other options in that position. At one point we were loaded with options in the wide areas, now we are barely two deep in terms of options and a massive drop in quality from 1st to 2nd choice.

Yes he was to blame today but let’s not act as if he has an attitude problem. He’s been a good squad player for a number of seasons now. Never complained or spat the dummy out. Never looked like he wasn’t trying.

He made a complete * of that incident today, but he was fantastic for the 60 minutes before. To say he has no fight or guts is pish.

As people have said, it’s the fault of the club that we’re having to play a converted midfielder with no pace at centre back.

 

He’s played CB for years now. Cba with this excuse that he only got sent off coz he’s a CM playing CB. He made a bad call and it looks like it cost us the game, that the long and short of it.

 

Will never tire of saying it, he gets a game if your playing a 3 at the back if we are out of cbs, and we're playing teams we'll have plenty of the ball.

You play him against teams who ain't scsre to attack us and most definetely when we're going with 2 CBs, we're getting a * nose.

He's a liability in the above instance.
