He can score the scrappy goals and the things of beauty. He will score from the spot and from a free. He doesn't care - they all count the same. The only thing that matters on the pitch is that he scores goals.

Let's just hope he continues to get his * together off the pitch as well as he has when he is on it.

Get this guy playing. A total poacher, as his goal proved yesterday. Great from set pieces, can strike a dead ball or moving ball well. Despute his issues, he's a constant threat. Needs a lot more minutes and a partner to get his firing on all cylinders.

Another poor decision from management to leave him out.

 

It's not even just his goals but he brings energy and works from the front. Would like to see him and Eddy back up front together, see of that gets Eddy back in the mood. Should create more space for him aswell.

Griffiths has finally spoke out against Lennon claiming once again. He isn’t fit


Griffiths said he is fit to start games but he isn’t match fit . And can’t get match fit as he not getting game time . He said


"I am not unfit. I am fit. But just not match fit and you can tell. Obviously I have not had a run of games.

"Hopefully I can get a wee run now and get my fitness right back up.


Exactly what Celtic fans have thought for a while as he hasn’t looked unfit when he has came on

Leigh Griffiths claims he is fit enough to be pitched into Celtic games from the start - despite manager Neil Lennon questioning his readiness.

The Hoops striker has been lacking match fitness this season but insists the only way he'll build it up is by being given time on the pitch to improve.

Griff has been resigned to playing a bit-part role from the bench this term so far, but is adamant he will be ready when called upon to lead the line. "We have four strikers here all vying for the one place just now, with the formation we go with," he said.


“It is about working hard in training and trying to make an impact when you can, if you can come off the bench.

“Hopefully I have done that and given the manager a wee bit of a headache going forward.

“He said after the game that I need to get fitter. Well that green stuff, the pitch, I need to be on that to get match fit.

“I am not unfit. I am fit. But just not match fit and you can tell. Obviously I have not had a run of games.

“Hopefully I can get a wee run now and get my fitness right back up.

“There is a difference between being fit and match fit and you need to play games to get match fit and the more minutes I get the fitter I will be.

“Luckily I have still been in squads, still been on the bench and have just been unfortunate that Patryk (Klimala) got the nod but I got the nod on Sunday and managed to make an impact so hopefully it’s my turn now.”

When is it gonna drop with griff ,train hard earn your place ,you train get fit play get sharp ,it doesn't change for any player ,he owes the manager for keeping him at the club when others probably would have given up on him ,be more committed by training harder than the rest ,show you want that place rather than thinking you should be playing through past performances, I love griff ,he is 1 of the best strikers of a ball I've seen play and we've had many , he needs to show he deserves it with his attitude, he could get himself in the best condition he's been in and give himself another few years at the top that would not have happened.

 

If it's as simple as train hard and work harder than the rest, then why isn't klimala starting?

he could get himself in the best condition he has ever been in and still would not get played .... since the first lockdown he has contributed more than any of our strikers - I.e won us the game at st Johnstone , got us a result at Aberdeen , helped change the game at hibs , scored in Europe and scored in the cup final . And in all these games he has looked fit but Lennon has always came out and said differently.

Celtic fans have bee. Saying for months that they aren’t buying this he’s not fit excuse now . So I’m glad griffiths has finally made a stand against Lennons constant criticism of him.
