Lenny can’t say in his interview that this is the team for the cup final. This is about man management. I heard the interview and he mentioned showing a bit of loyalty to the guys that got us there.

What he needs is the whole squad bursting a gut this week (and every week) to show that they deserve a place in the team.

So he’s got the guys who have done well in the last two games trying to impress further and he’s got the tried and tested guys he was/is loyal to thinking “will I get a game? Which of us will be picked?”. That’s the way it should be.

By no means a vintage but Definitely a solid performance 2-0 , should have been more, lot of decent fitbaw, clean sheet, defence held shape well with no daft errors

2 new bhoys an 8 again, new keeper looks assured

Maybe something to do with the fact that we’ve won the last 11 domestic trophies in a row and hearts play in the championship

Actually really enjoyed Duffy and Jullien together, today and Thursday, hopefully get a bit of consistency in the back four from now on

Old cliché but it was definitely a game of two half's. First half was very pedestrian and a struggle to break down the defence however, we came out in the 2nd half with a bit more zest. Frimpong began making runs, MOI came into the game more and we took control. Thought big Julien was solid (which helped Duffy play a bit better) and Soro was excellent. Turnbull once again showed why it has been a complete mystery as to why he's not been included in the team till now and the return of Mikey Johnson was an extra bonus. Good performance but still a long way to go before we return to our true form.

Still though, far too many defensive players.

We need two strikers to get the best out of Edouard.

Just a pity the referee s don’t seem to think you’re way anytime they team s play against us

guarenteed that first half foul on Taylor and handball in the second half are 100% penalties if it’s against the Huns

agree with you though, teams outside us hate the Huns aswell, Hearts were pish last year but absolutely played out their skins twice in a month v the Huns and the fans at the end were absolutely loving beating them

Can’t see any manager of a decent team who’s been watching him v the likes of Ross county, st Johnstone or basically any game this season thinking he’s worth 3M let alone 20M
Fs he never caused Kirk * broadfoot a minutes problem, guy’s 36 and was pish when he was 26

Good solid result, lille helped restore some belief in squad and perhaps, Lennon himself.

This result helps build on that. Use it, going into the next few games, keep the system and make sone tweeks e.g Laxalt starting once he's over any dodgy niggling knocks, perhaps look at starting Klimala with Eddie.

All in all, this is looking a lot better, let's just try and string some solid performances together now.

After a pretty average 1st half we kicked on. Second half should have seen us score 3 or 4 within the first 5 mins.

It all came from adjustments which should have taken place after 20 mins. First half the gaps between the 3 parts of the team were far too big. Defenders were far too deep, which resulted in Eddie being isolated up front. In between that we had the midfield trying to bridge the gap between both parts. Also Mo El and Frimpong were too far wide. And also we sat off Kilmarnock and allowed them time on the ball and options to find a pass.

2nd half, The defence stepped up. So high at one point that Duffy and Julien were 15 yards from the Kilmarnock box. Mo El and Frimpong were narrower, which brought in the Killie defence narrower and allowed space wide for Taylor and Ajer to attack. The former were also closer to Eddie, which allowed him to combine. The midfield could pressure and close the Killie players. And instead of having time or options to pass, they only really had the long ball to Kabamba (who Julien dealt well with). More pressure, led to more opportunities. More players able to attack the box and more threat, as oppose to the crossing in to 1 player which was routine during the 1st half.

I see Eddie is taking a bit of heat, but to be honest, in previous games and the 1st half today, he's been left isolated. And then in the 2nd half, just as we were doing what we needed too. He got taken off for Klimala. I thought we let Killie off lightly, when we had the chance to go for the throat and get a few goals. He did miss a good opportunity 1st half and had a chance in the 2nd. But we haven't half made it hard for him and ourselves this season.

Also with Mo El and Frimpong narrower, they not only were closer to the box. They made it harder for Killie to defend it. They didn't have the time to double up or just foul. And it allowed Taylor in particular to get in behind and deliver into the area. Forcing Kilmarnock defenders to defend under pressure and facing their own goal, rather than having everything in front and easy to deal with, like the 1st half. For the Mo El goal, he picked the ball up in line with the Killie box (as opposed to closer to the sideline in the 1st half) cut in to towards the angle of the box and hit it his shot. Granted it took a deflection or two. But the deflections came from the pressure of having to defend the goal.

Another set piece goal, coming from the improvement in delivery from Turnbull. Julien came close in the 1st half from another good delivery and movement similar to the Lille goal on Thursday night. Duffy finished it well and hopefully will see an uplift in his performances.

Look, I'm happy with the 2nd half and if we brushed up on a few things, we probably could have scored 4 or 5.

My frustration is that it has took so long for these adjustments to be made. We know how 90% of the domestic teams are going to play. And in the 2nd half, we saw what we need to do.

I thought the referee was an absolute disgrace today counted 3 free kicks where the wall was no more than 6 yards away * disgrace

Add that to the 2 stone wall penalties and late challenge on julien resulting in a throw in to Kilmarnock
Kilmarnock are a horrible team of hammer thrower s sticking the boot in at every opportunity and don’t play an ounce of decent football
