As said above, get him to fk, didn't want to come, so * him now. Fraser Forster is not the difference between us and them.

Our problems run deeper than the GK but let's not pretend we wouldn't be better off had Forster resigned. For one, he'd have saved at least one of the pens that has caused us to drop points in the league, be it one of the two at Aberdeen or Killie.

A competent Gk is worth 10-15 points a season, it would be foolish not to get him back, irrespective of what happened in the summer.

The difference between us and them is an education and a bar of soap.

I think we'll sell Barkas in January and go back in for Forster. I'd be surprised if it was a permanent deal tho, more likely cover for 6 months.

The ironic thing being that the only manager FF has played for at Celtic is NL, and how much of that was because of NL, so would he come, if he was even interested, to play for Celtic or was it only at Celtic because of NL?

Obviously, have no idea if he would even entertain the thought of returning here for a 3rd stint, but in all of this being a what if scenario anyhow, it is food for thought.

I'm pretty sure if he were to return it would be his 4th stint.

Celtic could go back in for Fraser Forster in January, it's reported, despite a summer knockback from the goalkeeper.

The England international returned to Parkhead on loan last season and was instrumental in securing a domestic treble.

Forster also impressed with his performances in Europe, with his flying save from Lazio's Marco Parolo immediately entering fan folklore.

Manager Neil Lennon sought to bring the 32-year-old back on another loan but the goalkeeper opted to stay and fight for his place at Southampton.

It was reported over the weekend that Forster had hoped for a switch to Chelsea but they signed Edouard Mendy.

Forster hasn't seen a single minute of action for Southampton and The Athletic reports a January move to Celtic could be on the cards.

While the Premiership champions felt slighted by the summer rejection they believe they may be able to get 'The Great Wall' back on a short-term loan.

Summer signing Vasilis Barkas has struggled since his £5million move from AEK Athens while backup Scott Bain has proved similarly unconvincing so far this season.

A few months ago I would of said * him, he had his chance to sign back but with the state of the team just I would take him 100%. At this rate though January will be too late.

I miss the lad. As he is getting older and his playing time in Southampton continues to be nothing maybe it will drop his transfer rate.

The Quadruple Treble would have never been possible without his cup final heroics last season, don't forget this man today amongst one of the greatest achievements in our history.

IF we are going to get him back...

We would preferably need him for the Hun game...

Game is on same day the transfer window opens...

Is it possible to get the deal done before and have him signed on the day ?

That’s not taking into account the covid situation by then.... we could have Scotland/England borders officially shut by then and zero movement of any kind allowed.

FF is presumably in Tier 4 as well...

Will there even be any football getting played in 10/12 dats time at all ?

Impossible to have him in by the Jan 2. game. But, if we can somehow win without him, his arrival would sicken Huns regarding the other 2 games we have vs. them.

Provided he has even shown interest in coming to us again.

Like a lot of other fans I was * right off when he fecked off back down to Southampton where he isn't getting a game and didn't want him back however, we are in desperate need of a good quality keeper as Hazard isn't the answer, I would have him back. There isn't a lot of time so, if he starts humming and hawing about coming, then * him and find some other quality keeper

Honestly think not having FF has been the catalyst of all our problems since he didn't come back.

The confidence he breathes throughout the team is unparalleled.

Agree to an extent, definitely the biggest difference between this season & last as to why we've had so many poor European & domestic results/performances, but in truth he was only ever masking the huge deficiencies in Lenny's team selections, lack of tactics, lack of shape, lack of positional discipline, lack of cohesion etc last season.

The Cluj disaster at the start of last season in the CL Qualifiers was a horror preview of what a Neil Lennon Celtic side without Forster behind it might look like, Copenhagen away we folded second half with the big man there to stop a penalty but sadly couldn't prevent the capitulation at home in the return leg, the huns at Hampden & Celtic Park were two other horror performances that the big man prevented defeat in one & not the other, Livingston away twice were two shocking defensive performances & a huge moment of lack of discipline from Christie which imo he still hasn't learned from as he's still too rash in the tackle & giving away stupid fouls, Lazio home & away the big man was also counted on a number of times over both legs as they exposed our midfield & defence.

The signs were all there last season for those who weren't too blind to see it, I always suspected a Lenny Celtic side minus Forster would get shown up too often & so it has proven this season so far.
