Media Duplicity

I'm finding all of this quite illuminating.

One only has to look at the media "onslaught" against Celtic fans right now to recognise the duplicitous nature of their professionalism.

The same rags who whipped up hate filled mutants and their vitriol, the same rags who accompanied EVERY story about Lennon with a photo of him snarling, grimacing or looking like a wild animal, the same rags that accused him of putting referees lives in danger and of damaging the Scottish game.. those same rags are now spewing out love laments for Neil Lennon, like he is the victim of some sort of frenzied attack from "masked ultras", "yobs" and "entitled arses".

Why the change in the smsm songbook?

Because he's now doing a bad job.

When Lennon was taking the institutional bias to task, when he was speaking out against bigotry, when he was holding referees publicly accountable for their flagrant partiality, and more noticeable, when he was doing a good job; it was operation get Lennon out.

Now that he's * it... he's a victim of his predecessors success.

They're out in full force. Pen tips smoking on the page. Apoplectic with rage that Celtic supporters are not going to stand by and watch their team steal a wage as the sevconites did.

How dare we.

From White to Walker, Cundy to McCoist to Commons and so on and so on. Some of them with different motives, but all with the same endgame... keep Lennon, stop the 10. Far fetched? Not in the slightest.

We now even have Sturgeon chiming in, in another disgusting attempt to try and harness a new voting pool with sevconites and sevco sympathisers.

If that wasn't enough the reporting is as sensational as anything I've seen on Fox News. The videos I've seen are of fans jeering, chanting and cursing. A far cry from Christie being "evacuated" during an interview, or the media given riot squad escorts out if Celtic Park, or camera men threatened with being "slashed".

This morning a fan turned up at the training ground to complain. The way it was originally reported in the rags, a crazed * in a suicide vest was attempting to ram the gates down in a transit can full of Semtex whilst brave security forces protected the innocent personal inside.

It really is all getting quite sinister indeed.

Lennon must not be allowed to quit. Not until a sevco title is secure, Sevco are lauded for toppling Celtics dominance, and Slippy G is hailed as the saviour of Scottish football. After all, who in England wants to read about Celtic doing 10 in a row? But England's own ex-captain? An unfortunate world beater who tragically missed out on a title? Now that's pay dirt right there. The southerners will lap it up. After all, they know they're better than us right? Here's the proof.

Not for a second will I be as melodramatic as the filth across the city and claim "we're under attack!!!!", after all, when you have board like ours, who needs enemies.

But one thing is entirely certain in my mind.

A competent, experienced new manager at the helm is a real spanner in the tabloid media's bottom lines.

 

Loved that film. Michael Keaton is able to clone himself, gets into all sorts of high jinks.

 

No doubt the "riot" story will grow arms and legs. We will get stories about policemen fearing for their life's and receiving life changing injuries that will haunt them for the rest of their life's (claim), players fearing for their life's, the fence fearing it will get buckled, and a whole line up of ex-players, cops, politicians etc. being rolled out to give their tuppence worth. Our MSM has mainly been twisted in favour of the huns with the odd Celtic minded hack thrown in for balance but they are now just huns with crayons.

 

Funny how they've suddenly become concerned about Lennon's wellbeing after someone shouted bad words at him from 200 yards yet when was getting live ammunition and bombs in the post he had to take "some responsibility " since he "brought it on himself".

Hmm , was there a former player , dressed like a tramp and drunk on the doorstep , addressing protesting fans shouting and swearing " wheres ra * deeds , your the * that buy the * pies " Naw !!

Was there actual stadium glass doors kicked in as angry protesting fans manhandled staff inside , Naw !!

now where did I see these things that the SMSM glossed over and actually lauded in some papers !
Take no lectures from these dieing papers !!!

 

One indeed sees the media onslaught and did not expect anything less.

Googling the word Celtic never returns a pleasant headline. * industry up here.

Fantastic post. Of all the great things Lennon has done for our club, the time when he as you put it 'took the institutional bias to task' for me was the defining achievement of his two decades at Celtic.

I miss those days like you wouldn't believe. He is a shadow of the man that made him a Celtic legend and the way he let's everything slide now, citing him being 'more mellow these days', is tarnishing that status just as much as the abysmal football the team is playing the now.

 

I am at pains with Celtic and where we are as a club, it is a shambles.

But if one thing has finally struck home, is that I will never again pay more than a glancing look or attention to what any of the Scottish sports "journalists" or pundits have to say. They are complete scum with their own agenda and in a small country with two massive supported clubs, it is generally one or the other and coated in a bucket load of biased *.

Sutton and Hartson (less so Hartson) have finally shown their own agendas and never again will I care for their opinion either. Self motivated wanks the lot of them.

 

I think in any other year you can point a figure or two at the media but this crisis is Celtic's own doing and nobody else's. The players are to blame, and the board then Lennon.

Laughable to blame some journalist for the club committing mass hara-kiri

 

Who does he play for?

 

Didn't get the impression anyone is blaming the media for our downfall.
Merely their change in narrative bow that Lennon's * it, they want him kept in a job and giving him the sympathy vote.
