Leigh Griffiths has done what’s been asked of him and scored most times when he came on he nearly saved the 3 points at Aberdeen not his fault the manager dislikes him and will inevitably bench him even when fit

Any decent manager would NOT have been out of 3 competitions this season by November with this squad.

The squad is the strongest in the country by miles, it’s not talent we lack it’s organisation, discipline, a set style of play. These are all things that come from the manager and his coaching staff yet week after week the same * is happening, no one knows their role and we ship a barrel load of * goals from set plays. Then it’s Hail Mary formation swaps and throwing every striker in the squad on chasing games.

The squad of players needs led, a fresh impetus and new ideas. None of these things are coming from Lennon.

    Good point

Pretty sure when Rodgers came in he only added a couple of players but turned our u underperforming team into a force to be reckoned with.

Obviously he has to go but I'm honestly disgusted by a load of the players this last couple of months. Any new manager is going to face a very tough task here. Lennon cuts a very lonesome figure, it's hard to watch actually. Hung out to dry by the players, the board and his coaching staff by the looks of it.

Absolutely, he has looked keen and fit when he has come on, so what the xxxxs going on ? He has had his problems this year but looked to be fit again so why isnt he playing ?

He wasnt one of the two "retirees" I was referring to, just another enigma in this debacle

Thought the team were superb yesterday, and if only the Ross County goals had been Celtic goals we'd have won.

Who are the retirees? Only old boy is Brown as far as I can see. Or is it in an ironic sense?

Just watched it again. Painful. We were playing with about seven maybe eight from the kick off.

Penalty : Yes we were rank but that penalty decision is bizarre, Julien tries to block the low cross, the Ross forward runs into Juliens back and tumbles over him. Instant decision from the ref. Never a penalty.

However shortly before, right in fron Ross defender raises his arm to block a cross, ball hits his elbow : no penalty.

Bitton : In the lead up two Ross players exchange passes on the wing and trot past Bitton who simply turns and watches them run down the wing. Winger crosses, penalty results. He really couldnt GAF in my opinion. All but two of his passes were either lateral or back.

Forrest and Bitton are both 29. Forrest has been at Celtic since he was about 14 and is contracted till hes about 32.

Bitton is 29, signed at 21. Has signed till end of 2023 , also till he is 32.

Both on huge salaries ( 750 thousand plus a year) and untouchable. No-one else wants them at that price so they can enjoy a relaxed end to their careers, plenty of time on the massage table, recovering from minor strains etc. Followed by a nice Testimonial from their club paid for by their adoring fans.

How did Forrest end up getting the blame for this season? :giggle1:

It's definitely weird. Lennon last season was nowhere near this sorry state as a person, and the club looked capable of European success, not only domestic domination. Transfers which should've strengthened us, did not.

Are we so dependent on fans in the stands?

He isnt, but he is just one of about seven players who dont contribute or show any heart or passion. Some want away to a bigger club / league, but another two or three are just going through the motions till his contract expires, hes one, Bittons another.

But in his case his fans trot out the "Wee Jamesie" bollocks, our own wee Harry Potter. But he is 29, the longest serving player at the club and one of the highest paid, but never shows leadership, fight or passion for the club and usually MIA when the going gets tough. Unlike say Scott Brown.

Wee Jamesie ( love his little socks ) also saves his poorest performances for games against the scum ( if he is available that is, and not nursing a strain).

Don't see what he has to do with our current predicament though. We usually win when he's playing.

If anything, we've missed him this season. He's put in his share of match winning performances and he provides good cover on the right.

Forrest is a shy person in general and doesn’t even have social media. Regardless of how long he’s played for us he just isn’t the “leader” type of character. That’s no reason to blast him for if that’s just not who he is. He has been and still is a fantastic servant for us. This year and most of last year he’s been asked to play roles he isn’t comfortable with/isn’t his preferred position yet he always gives his all (whether that’s a good performance or not) he never chucks it. We need a winger right now, as our wing play is * *

I like Forrest, but he does chuck it sometimes mate and goes through patches where he barely breaks a sweat.

Sometimes he just walks about and you can tell he's thinking about his dinner.

I don't blame him as such. He needs a certain type of coaching, Rodgers knew that, hence why we saw the best out of him.

Yeah you’re right in that sense and that’s the issue aint it that we can all visibly see. The right coach getting the best outta the players; and unfortunately that’s not Lenny is it. Boggles my mind how this team can fail like it has when it has the quality it has on paper
